Strike Back : Vengeance — Poster, teaser, trailer and première date

Strike Back : Vengeance, that's how the third season (second season with the same cast) of Strike Back is called, just like Spartacus' third season (second season if you exclude the six-part prequel). Lots of similarities between these two series, actually : it's on pay-cable channels not big on original series, there's action, sweaty men, tons of sex & cursing and they changed the lead actor after one season (sadly not for the right reasons in Spartacus' case). And now they also share a title. Strike Back : Vengeance's début is on Friday, August 17, with a 2-hour première.

As you've seen, I found the poster for Femme Fatales, another Cinemax original series, when searching for Strike Back's. Femme Fatales is currently airing new episodes of its second season (10 episodes) ending on July 27. Other than the fact that its title contains a spelling error (it's "femmes fatales", if the adjective is plural so is the noun), I don't know much about the content of the show (except that it's adapted from a magazine with the same spelling error), but my guess is if you like The Secret Life of the American Teenager or Pretty Little Liars, this is a show for you ;).

As for Strike Back, season 1 (Sky One only) took place in Iraq, Zimbabwe & Afghanistan, season 2 took place in India, South Africa, Sudan, Kosovo & Hungary. Both seasons were shot on location in South Africa (+ a few weeks of filming in Budapest for Project Dawn). Well, the 10 episodes of Vengeance were also shot in South Africa since last January.

Here's a small teaser (no new images from Vengeance in here) :

And now a trailer with extract from the episodes (labelled as season 3, Vengeance premières on Sky One in September) :

Lead actors Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton return as Sergeant Michael Stonebridge and Delta Force operative Damian Scott. Rhashan Stone (Major Oliver Sainclair) and Michelle Lukes (Sgt Julia Richmond) also reprise their roles.

Rhona Mitra (the original model for Lara Croft, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck) & Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Channel 4's upcoming Coup) are the new additions to the main cast as Captain Rachel Dalton and the season's main villain. Nice !

  2. Charles Dance and Rhona Mitra should add something to the series!

    Oh and about Femme Fatales...
It's one of those Cinemax sex series that helped coin the term Skinemax. I've seen ads for it and it is basically softcore as far as I can tell. Never watched it.

  3. Creds for posting about shows like this one. I was not a fan of the first season, but liked the second more. Really want to watch the third now after Dance joining. Dance is one of those british actors i need to see in every series they do from now on, after Game of Thornes.
