NBC is firming up Smash 2.0. The musical-drama is adding another character to the show next season, giving Karen (Katharine McPhee) a roommate.
Broadway actress Krysta Rodriguez has joined the show as a series regular, playing “Ana,” Karen’s “fun and spunky new roommate” who’s also also “an ensemble member in Broadway shows trying to make her mark.” Last season Karen lived with her boyfriend Dev, one of several Smash characters expected to exit the show next season.
