Rookie Blue goes undercover this Thursday (ABC, 10/9c) when the cops of the 15th Precinct chase a killer with a type: blonde call girls in their mid-20s. Naturally, Gail (Charlotte Sullivan) volunteers to pose as a high-end escort, complete with a how-to-play-a-hooker tutorial from training officer Noelle. But the case will turn complicated when the rookie goes from bait to possible victim, setting the stage for a tense two-parter concluding on Aug. 9.

“It’s a great couple of episodes,” raves Enuka Okuma, who plays detective-in-training Traci Nash. “All I can say is it’s really exciting, it’s nail-biting, and it was really fun for all the actors to play.” She adds that the high-stakes arc will also set the season “off in a whole other direction.”

Could the new trajectory have something to do with the possible “ultimate sacrifice” teased in the official description for the Aug. 9 episode? Earlier this season, star Missy Peregrym predicted that viewers would “go crazy over” over a situation that “really throws a rift through [all the characters].”
