Thanks to Darthlocke for the following.
Revolution's Official Facebook page debuted new promo art, well almost new promo art. Recently cast Elizabeth Mitchell, allegedly in the role of Mrs. Matheson, and with notably darker hair, has taken the place of Anna Lisa Phillips' character, Maggie, where she too stands next to Zak Orth's character, Aaron.
Please let this be a good platform for the marvelous Elizabeth Mitchell... V was so disappointing and it wasn't all her fault but still was lackluster in it.. I love EM and have high hopes for this show..
ReplyDeleteWow that was quick, thanks Dark! (Sorry if I gave to much info!)
ReplyDeleteI find it all interesting since Maggie seems to be her [former?] husband's love interest, as we can tell from the Pilot. At first I thought maybe this had to do with reshoots alone, possibly changing Maggie's storyline, but then I thought about how Aaron has that special device, and thought maybe they put Charlie's mom next to him, not just because of billing changes, but maybe also has a hint that she and Aaron are some how aligned....
I feel like she fits right in here! --I think her and Billy Burke's characters will have a lot of similarities and I am looking forward to seeing them come face to face at some point.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I hope this show to succeed - cause I'll need next year a good replacement for Fringe... (and the still huge hole in my heart from Lost...)
ReplyDeleteHa no worries :)
ReplyDeleteI think that the Power On/Off button instead of a simple O is an Epic Fail!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'll give this show a try for Elizabeth Mitchell and the appealing plot :)
Person of Interest is a good show; have you watched that?
ReplyDeletestopped after the 10th episode, boring as hell :/
ReplyDeleteReally unsure about this show but I hope it works out well for Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteSorry, now I don't get: Who exactly is Elizabeth replacing? At first I thought she would play the kid's mother ( previously played by Andrea Roth ), who dies early on, and that Mitchell wouldn't be that much in the show - only maybe in flashbacks. Now it looks like she's playing the man's second wife 15 years after, who is travelling with the daughter Charlie... Help out a confused Juliet-Fan here guys...
ReplyDeleteYeah what am i missing here? Who is being replaced?
ReplyDeleteVery bad moment to stop, it gets better - like Fringe did in season 1 :)
ReplyDeleteI liked V, but Revolution might not be a good idea for Mitchell, because she will appear only in flashbacks, as far as I rememer. And, well, I think it will be cancelled this year, but that's another topic ;)
ReplyDeleteThe original promo art has Anna Lisa Phillip's character "Maggie" (who seemingly is Ben Matheson's current love interest, as we got wind that Ben's wife (Elizabeth Mitchell's character, who is then also the mother of Charlie and Danny) has been "missing" for some time, instead of where Elizabeth Mitchell's character has now been added.
ReplyDeleteHere's the previous promo art featuring "Maggie" instead:
She's not necessarily replacing anyone, but rather they took the Maggie character (Anna Lisa Phillips) out and put Elizabeth Mitchell's character in her place within the promo art. It may have to do with star billing, as I am assuming Elizabeth Mitchell will be higher in credits during the first season. There's no information yet to fully suggest Anna Phillip's character is being changed or removed because of this.
ReplyDeleteThey are doing some reshoots according to Kripke. Like with Desmond's first picture of Penny on Lost, didn't have an image of S. Wagner, did I notice in a video promo that the women in photo being Charlie's mother, is not Elizabeth Mitchell. --But everything may be up in the air a bit, because in the Pilot we see Maggie hold and kiss Ben as he gets shot, suggesting that she is his current love interest (and she is seen in the trailer/video promos traveling with Charlie and Aaron on their way to Chicago), but when Elizabeth Mitchell was cast, it also said that her character has been missing from Charlie, Danny, and presumably Ben's lives for a long long time (maybe since even the black out)....But before that, things were even more complicates as Andrea Roth was initially cast as Danny and Charlie's mother, but now it seems like she is/was Mile's wife and Charlie and Danny's Aunt, unless they drop her from the casting all together.
LOL I've read they were going to get Maggie out of the show. Maybe they're joining the two characters.
ReplyDeletemr.OTHER is right. The first half of the season was a mediocre procedural, like Fringe was; but pretty much every episode after its winter hiatus was spectacular. It really built a complex, but utterly fascinating mythology comparable to Lost (in its prime, mind). You should give it another try.
ReplyDeleteLong ago I read that they were going to recast Andrea Roth character and the Anna Lisa Phillips character was going to get written off the show.
ReplyDeleteI disagree. I think we'll find she's just been missing, but what she has been doing, who's she's been with, and why she left her husband and kids could turn out to surprise us and place in thick of why the lights went out.
ReplyDeletea simple "O"???
ReplyDelete< o >
Well this could prove to be very interesting,i wonder what she has been up to and was she by herself??
ReplyDeleteI think they can work around it, if they wanted to. I mean Ben seems to die anyways, so something tells me I would root for E.M.'s character being with her brother in law...
ReplyDeletePersonally I thought Anna Lisa Phillips looked interesting, so I'm hoping this doesn't really change very much, considering Ben's wife may have been missing for a long time...
Do you think you could find a link?
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right, Mitchell's character and her story can help this show :) but again, the mystery you described is only within a family and about family. I don't think it's a good direction... The idea of the show (electricity stuff) doesn't fit to family show (look how Terra Nova ended)
ReplyDeleteFringe, Revolution, and Once Upon A Time are all going to be sudo-dyspepsian this season, as all three shows will continue (or in Revolutions case start) to promote the importance of family and/or family dynamics in an interesting brave new worlds. (advanced tech, super magic, and a lack of tech)
ReplyDeleteIn fact in all 3 cases daughters will be reuniting with their mothers and other family members. Etta-Olivia, Emma-Snow, Charlie-Rachel. IMO Bad Robot and fellow writers, have yet to fail me in the family saga department. It's one thing I think they do really well.
Terra Nova ended that way because the writing sucked. And the efects were really bad.
ReplyDeleteKripke knows how to do this family stuff.
Revolution please fill the hole in my heart where Fringe used to be after this season. =)
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the effects matter, but the writing was indeed really bad. I'd like to be surprised!
ReplyDeleteI see your point, although I don't really like Once Upon a Time (and I watch it for different reasons) so it's not really consolation to me :) But Fringe can be a good example, so I will definitely watch the pilot :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, because I didn't think I would like Once Upon A time at all, because I thought it would be too slap-sticky or juvinielle for my tastes, but I was totally wrong and I see again those compelling stories, multiple timeline/periods, and unique characters like that of Bad Robot that I just love, as I feel certain K and H took the stylization BR is known for with them, let alone all the referencing....well except the CGI!!!
ReplyDeleteI also replied to your comment in our previous discussion, but it may not have appeared in "My Discus".
