TNT‘s blockbuster series The Closer returned for the first of six final episodes last night, drawing 6.1 million viewers, this summer’s largest Live + Same Day audience for a returning cable drama. The Closer was followed by the series premiere of TNT’s new drama Perception, which drew 5.6 million viewers and now ranks behind TNT’s Dallas on the list of cable’s top series launches for the year-to-date.
Among key demos, The Closer averaged 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 1.7 million adults 25-54 in Live + Same Day. The premiere of Perception brought in 1.1 million adults 18-49 and ranks behind Dallas as cable’s #2 drama series launch among adults 25-54 (1.5 million).

Those are very good numbers for Perception's premiere. They planned this well.

ReplyDeleteOh good, i hope Perception does well, it's one i will definitely enjoy based on the pilot.
ReplyDeleteThe Closer-0.9 A 18-49
ReplyDeletePerception-0.8 A18-49
both shows skew pretty old it appears
Dude, you are depressing me putting me in a 'pretty old' demographic! :P
ReplyDeleteGOOD START FOR PERCEPTION.
ReplyDeleteI like perception, episode 1 was good!
ReplyDeletePerception is a tough pill to swallow unless you lean far left politically. Although an obvious template of Monk in a Beautiful Mind setting, it could have been "comforting" in the vein of Psych or Necessary Roughness. But with shows like Suits, White Collar and Covert Affairs to compete with, it does not deserve to survive with such a heavy handed political albatross duct taped to its neck.
