    The first episode involving the Deepwater Horizon explosion took place on/around April 20th 2010. The second episode involving the passing of SB1070 (anti-illegal immigration law in Arizona), took place around April 23rd 2010.

    Judging by the title of this episode, it would likely be jumping ahead to around January 5th 2011 (also the current Congress in session). One thing I rather like about The Newsroom, is that the episodes involve REAL news stories, but from a new perspective.
