  1. What! When did this happen? Don't tell me they have cast tiny Tom Cruise as the giant six-foot four Jack Reacher!
I love those books and I knew that sooner or later the film industry would ruin them with a bad film but I would never have thought they would have done something so foolish as give it to Tom Cruise.
The role calls for a big tough guy the size of Padalecki at least.
I really can't believe in this terrible casting. I'm so flabbergasted!!
    The trailer is pathetic too!

  5. Silly old Hollywood doesn't realize this isn't the 80's or even the mid 90's anymore, I think most of are so tired of Tom Cruise. Casting can make or break a movie, especially if it's based on a book .

  6. Trailer doesn't make this look like anything special. Tom Cruise is not this guy, at all.

  7. Yeah.I agree with what you say.
In this case the casting is particularly important as the books give a detailed description of Reacher saying he has hands like dinner-plates etc. It lays a lot of emphasis on his big size.
I think this film has flop written all over it.

  8. Absolutely not.
Then apart from the size problem, Reacher comes over as dangerous just looking at him, but in the trailer Cruise just doesn't have that aura at all!

  10. I've never read the books but even I think casting Tom Cruise is laughable. I liked Mission Impossible and like Cruise well enough as an actor but this is the epitome of poor casting choices.

  11. And you know this is just the beginning, when he starts fighting for custody that's all we are going to hear...ugh!

  12. Well, it's all free publicity for him and for scientology and it probably sells plenty of copies for the gossip magazines! A win-win for everyone!
I hope Katie gets lots of compensation!

  13. She said she is happy to walk away with what she came with, all she wants is her daughter to be taken care of...And yes, this is great for the tabloids, and probably his movies. I just don't want to hear about everytime i change the channel.or put the news on..
