    Wait, you mean the fact that we exclusively told you that Jensen Ackles' father Alan Ackles will be guest-starring on the show isn't enough awesomeness for you? Fine, how about that fans can expect to meet the darkly handsome Benny, who is an easy-going, no-B.S. kind of fellow…with a bit a savage side deep down, of course. Think Johnny Cash meets Benicio Del Toro. We're sold!


    Can some one kindly explain me what this is? I didn't really understand, my poor English!

    I'll attempt to make it simple:


    1. Jensen's father Alan Ackles will guest star


    2. A new character named Benny will also guest star


    -He's handsome
    -Easy-going
    -A savage deep down




    The rest is just full of English expressions and references, for the most part.

    God, enough of these handsome guys. Well no offense and just kidding, there will be more buzz about the actors than the show from fan girls, which I sometimes find annoying. I always wished, they hired less good-looking actors as Sam and Dean.

    Will Jensen's dad actually have a speaking role? I remember David Boreanaz's father was on Bones but all he did was photocopy something (and took many many takes to do it =P). I wonder if Mr. Ackles will be like some guy eating at a burger place or be involved in a case.
    PLL news is creepy! Someone who dresses like Alice in Wonderland? I don't know how they manage to come up with so many disturbing plots.

    Savage means vicious or animal-like. Basically, Benny looks human but he's also a monster. A Purgatory monster in fact.


    Jensen's dad was also in Devour with him. He's had small roles in a lot of things since the 80's and seems to be a frequent guest star whenever things shoot in Texas. He was the announcer voice on Supernatural for Weekend at Bobby's, which Jensen also directed.

    I don't know if David's dad is an actor but Jensen's is so hopefully it won't be a multiple take kind of thing. :-) He was in Devour with Jensen. I wouldn't expect for him to have a major role but it would make sense that he would have a tiny speaking part. After all he spoke in Weekend at Bobby's. We just didn't see him in that one.

    I'm excited about Benny but I wonder if we're also gonna see some familiar faces in Purgatory.There's Gordon,Madison,Lenore...It'd be cool if they suddenly came face to face with Dean.Especially Gordon!

    Hasnt Alan Ackles already been on the show, in You Cant Handle The Truth? I though Jensen said his dad was the news caster on TV or something?


    Anyway awesome stuff, interested to see who Mr Ackles will be playing. Would love him to be in a scene with both Jared and Jensen.


    Cant wait to see who gets the role of Benny, he sounds like a really cool character. Nice to see Dean make a friend? Definitely think Benny helps Dean get out of Purgatory, so we'll see him in a couple of episodes. But if he's a hit they could always find a way for him to stick around. Like to know if he gets out of Purgatory with Dean or not.


    I'm actually surprisingly excited for season 8, I've heard good things for Sam, Dean and the mythology. The 3 most important elements to the show. I would like to know a bit more about the brothers relationship though. Hopefully comic con will shed some light.

    Totally out of topic, but I gotta tell you this. I am glad that Jensen Ackles has made his first entry (most probably) into one of the Indian Articles. Let me tell you, very few foreign actors are recognized here in India. As you may have already known, our country cinema is very well dominated by Bollywood and TV is dominated by soaps in local languages. Western actors hardly get any recognition here. Jensen's name appearing in an article is definitely an indicator of his popularity.

    True! I always watched WB shows on other channels in Canada. When they switched to CW I think I started to get the Buffalo CW. I still watch the majority of the shows on Canadian networks though because I don't get CW in HD and watching the Winchesters in standard definition just isn't enough =P

    I am glad Jensen is getting more international acclaim in your country. However, I have serious doubts about swooning over Kristen Stewart's acting as well as their choices appearing (much older) than Kristen. However I have not and will never read the book so maybe its definition of much older means 10 years. I also very much doubt that Jensen will be doing what amounts to a soft porn film given that he has no time with Supernatural's scheduling and that he is known to be more reserved/less excited about shooting even Supernatural's limited, and generally light PG-13 at the very most, sex scenes.

    That is cool. I hope he continues to get recognized in India. The bigger he is both in US and internationally perhaps the more likely it will be that he finds film work after Supernatural ends.

    Bwah! If it means we get Amy round 2, I agree with you. There have to be almost as many things in Purgatory with a beef with Dean Winchester as there was in hell. His best bet is to keep as low of a profile as he can while slaughtering the lower level monsters. I would however love to see Lenore and Dr. Visyak again, so who knows. Unfortunately I think we are going to leave Purgatory too soon to actually explore it well.

    This is very cool to know! I recently saw him in a Russian article as well. It surprised me, and I love to see the 2 J's recongnized outside the US. I think, after 7 years, Supernatural is becoming classic, and even iconic on some level.

    Gosh, i wish didn't have this horrible feeling of negativity about season eight.
    When I heard that Carver was going to be the new showrunner, I was so optimistic but the more I read the more negative I become.
    All we needed was another good-loking character on the show, so now we'll get a whole new set of fan-bickering as with Castiel, with this new guy.

    Then I don't like it when there are family, friends and relations on shows. It's unprofessional and smells of cheap pubblicity.
