  3. It could be an interesting prospect otherwise, but since it's MTV, I don't think they will do a good job of it. It would depend on who's making it. If Kevin Williamson is on board, it may be good.

  4. Really hope Kevin is on board but considering how things went with the last movie I'm not sure he'll be excited to work on the Scream franchise again...

  5. I LOVED this franchise (well, except Scream 3), and I think it had a perfect coda with Scream 4.
So at least I hope they won't use any of the original characters. I'd prefer if they'd use the Stab movies instead, but I know Scream as a title sells more.

  6. Is there originality left on television?

  7. Not a good idea left over there at mtv...

  8. MTV needs to cancell all of their shows, and go back to playing music. It's no longer a music television station, but just one that plays the dumbest shows in the world

  9. Nope, seems has if the writers can't think of writing a series that isn't a remake of an old show or movie... It's sad really, we don't need another stupid reality show. There's way too many, but MTV, has lost their edge. They need to go back to playing just music not those stupid annoying reality shows.

Everybody hated the idea of making Teen Wolf into a series. And it turned out rather great. So why not scream? I'm also a little sceptic about this, but I'll see later on..

  14. Scream was out a long time ago, plus if they are going to gear towards teenagers, who are the only ones who watch anything annoying show on MTV, it's not going to be good as the movie.

I'm sure it will flop big time. MTV needs to just go back to playing music, it shouldn't be called Music television since it doesn't even play music. What's the point of keeping the name if it no longer lives up to it's hype.

  15. You are
right. MTV is really lost these days. They really should go back to playing
music videos and dedicating their schedule to music and not stupid “reality”
    shows.

  16. It is informative post. I have to say from a retailers perspective it has been fantastic. I impressed by that franchise and i think it had a perfect coda with Scream 4.

  17. I have to agree with you. Honestly had I read this post a year ago, I would have thought that a weekly series based on the Scream franchise would have zero chance of being good-just simply for the fact that it was being developed by MTV.

But Teen Wolf is one of my favorite shows now. I actually stayed clear of it last year until about five episodes had aired because it was on MTV. Then I was really bored one night (and I had heard really good things from critics), so I tuned in and I found out it was actually a really good show to my amazement.

Now Scream could be a totally different case, but I'm at least willing to give MTV the benefit of the doubt until I see it (or any other scripted shows of theirs from now on).
