A month ago I reported that the cast for Sundance Channel's first original series Rectify was almost assembled, well now it is assembled !
Sundance Channel has found its leading man for Rectify, the legal drama created by Oscar winner Ray McKinnon. Australian actor Aden Young will play Daniel Holden, who must put his life back together after serving 19 years on Georgia's Death Row before DNA evidence calls his conviction into question.
McKinnon will executive produce through his shingle Zip Works along with Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, producers on sister network AMC’s Breaking Bad, which kicks off its final season this summer.
Rectify is Sundance Channel’s first in-house original scripted series and continues a scripted push at the channel that has included the limited series Carlos and the upcoming Jane Campion miniseries Top of the Lake.
Rectify is set to premiere in 2013 on Sundance Channel in the US and throughout Europe, Asia and North America on Sundance Channel Global.
The supporting cast includes Abigail Spencer, Clayne Crawford, Jonah Lotan and J. Smith Cameron.
