Game of Thrones - Season 2 - A Look at Special Makeup and Prosthetic Design

New photos turned up recently online, giving us a fresh peek into the effects makeup and prosthetics used on Game of Thrones. White Walkers, gruesome injuries, and the shadow baby belly were designed and built by Creatures Inc. LTD. Yes, the stunning creatures beyond the Wall were not entirely CGI as many had assumed.

Note: some photos may be NOT SAFE FOR WORK as they depict slight nudity (in the case of Melisandre’s belly) and graphic injuries (it still hurts to look at Jory’s face).

  1. The White Walker looks even better here than it did on screen. Impressive!
I love the ice crystals almost flaking off the flesh of his fingers.

    I feel for Jamie Sives!
I can't sit still with an eye lash in my eye... I cannot imagine being between takes with a dagger in my eye!

  7. On the Creatures Inc. Facebook papge you can also see Lysa Arryn's fake breasts. Amazing work, if you wouldn't have known you would have never guessed them being prosthetics.

  8. I saw that... erm them... erm that, but decided to leave them off... XD

I agree though, very well done. I had just seen Kate Dickie on something before the season, so I suspected they were prosthetic and appeared quite a bit larger than I had seen. Mostly I just hoped they were prosthetic because of that scene! XD
