  1. Eh, I'm not worried. Neal/Sara will most likely be endgame.

  2. they belong together. cant they just be a happy couple like marshell and lilly?

  3. Immensely dislike this news. Alex adds nothing to the show, and Gloria is a poor actress. Plus, they wrapped her character up pretty well with the treasure plotline. How on earth will it make sense to bring her back? I've trusted this show with everything it's done so far, but I think this might be in jumping the shark territory.

  4. What? I thought her story line ended a while ago? I hope the show doesn't start recycling characters like this too much.....

  5. Even though I like Sara, it will be nice seeing Alex again.  My only wish for this is that the Neal / Alex stuff is just interesting backstory and not the start of some stupid triangle.  I don't want this show overdoing the 'shipper stuff.

  6.  I really like Alex, and therfore am looking forward to seeing her back in the show. Thanx Jeff Eastin!

  7. I love Alex! I'm so happy to see her again. I am a convinced Neal/Alex shipper. they are perfect togheter.

  8. I love Alex...and not just as a possible gf for Neal. I love the Neal/Alex scenes. They have chemistry. I like how she brings excitement to the story.  Sara is too boring to watch, even with Neal on the scenes. (Hey, you have your opinions, I have mine!)

  9. Sara and Neal were good working together but romantically there was no spark,no passion, nothing.I'm not thrilled with Alex for Neal either but she made it interesting..

  10. Woo hoo!  I love Alex.  Hoping she gets a nice story arc this time around.

  11. I like Alex a million time better than Sara. I think Alex and Neal have the best chemistry. I can not stand Sara at all. Very happy to hear that Alex is coming back.

  12. No, no, no, no, no. This is a TERRIBLE move. Alex and Neal have absolutely no chemistry whatsoever. Stick with Sara. She brings out the best in Neal and they have loads of romantic and sexual chemistry. Alex just makes him a petulant child. Season Three was great. I'm beginning to doubt Season Four.

  13. I LOVE ALEX and glad she will be back on White Collar.. Gloria is a wonderful actress and the scenes with her and Matt are very fun.. they play off each other so well, whether they are involved in a con or a kiss. I like her character and in S1 there were many questions that were brought up about Neal and Alex's past, that have yet to be explored.. the WRITERS eluded to so much more in S1. We have been waiting patiently to finding out more. Glad S4 is getting back on track.. should be fun.
Why wouldn't Sara fans want Alex to come back? She has always been a part of Neal's life, as is Sara. The show is not suppose to be a soap opera, but the focus is the relationship of NEAL and PETER and what flows from that.. All is fair game.. It's not about "ships".. Should be fun to see "Maya" enter into Neal's life too, as well as any other new or old friends..

  14. Very happy that they are having Alex coming back. She was always a part of Neal's life. No one knows who is staying with Neal, that is up to the writers of the show. I think Alex was great fun when she and Neal are together. Looking forward to more of Alex on White Collar.

  15. I'm so happy! Alex is one of my favourite character in the whole show. And we didn't see enough about her. She knows Neal exactly for who he is, and cares about him. She is part of his past, and I'm not so sure that she won't be part of his future. Exactly as us, she loves the best and the worst of him (I don't think that for Sarah is the same). Please Jeff Eastin, I want more than 2-3 episodes with Alex!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I agree...Neal and Alex scenes are great, weather they are a pair or not. I take her as old friends just as gladly as as love interest. Just seeing her again will be fantastic.

I'm still hoping that the lack of Sara in the Promo means that we either get rid of her annoying character for good, or that at least HB isn't a regular any longer. As long as the stop shoehorn her into every second episode, I'll be happy!

  17. yay! I love Alex! :D

  18. Sara is back, and HB is still most likely a regular. Not sorry to burst your bubble. :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Here's to hoping Alex's sorry ass gets the hell out after an episode or two at most. She brings out the absolute worst in Neal. And yes, she IS his past and that is EXACTLY why there's no way she can be in his future. Alex won't change from the selfish woman she is. Neal deserves better. And yes, by better, I do indeed mean Sara, who loves Neal far more than Alex could ever dream of doing.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Source? Haven't seen any advertising or anything with her yet. And considering that they barely managed to give HB her ten episodes appearance last season, it makes no sense to me why they want her as a regular yet again.
Either way, I just hope that they don't want Alex back just to "prove" us, how much better Sara is. Alex is a too good character on her own right to be ruined by such a nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  21. But that's exactly the reason I want her back! The show is at its best, when Neal is pulling on his leash. And who says that she has to be a love interest? She is a great character, because she is one of the few people who can out-con Neal (as seen in "Out of the Box"). She brings trouble, and that makes her interesting in her own right. Plus, since not every character in the show is contracted to cheer her on, she adds a very interesting dynamic whenever she turns up. I always wanted her to meet Diana!

  22. There's an interview with JE floating around somewhere where he says it's very likely that HB will be a regular, since they want to focus on the development of Neal and Sara somewhat given the strain of Neal having to flee and all. And honestly, Alex is only interesting when she's NOT a love interest, so if they keep her from being The Sexy One, maybe she'll be fine. But I have very little faith in these writers.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Urgh....I thought that giving back the Raphael was a good ending to the mess what was their relationship. Considering the way Neal treated her, any woman with self respect would send him to hell.
Sorry but ALEX is the sexy one? She is not the one walking around in sky heels and clothes no self-respecting businesswoman would wear. Or who has to prance around in a diamont bustier, just because the writers are apparently a couple of school boys.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No, but she IS the one who voluntarily pretends that she was having sex with Neal when Peter shows up, skinnydips when it isn't actually necessary, screws a guy she barely knows when he's longing for another woman, carries knives in her breasts...shall I go on? Check your double standards at the door, sweetheart. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. *shrugs* you were the one who started the "too sexy" argument.
The thing is: What Alex does fit her character. She is a female con man, naturally she uses her assets. And she obviously has no hang ups about taking what she likes. But she has style doing it - for me, she is mostly elegant sexy.
Sara on the other hand doesn't really fit into the role she is supposed to play. Working in insurance, she should wear something which fits this job (not because I have hang ups about this in real life, but because in a TV-Show, those details make or break a character). It also doesn't help that they give her the "see how sexy she is" camera treatment whenever possible (you know, slowmo, sexy music, going once over her body and ending at the legs).
Oh, god, I really hope that they don't do this to Alex when she is back - it would so cheapen the character if the objectify her this way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow. Must be fun to have your head so far up your ass. Learn some proper grammar and get a life while you're at it...

    ReplyDelete
  27. If we're pulling out the cold hard facts here, Alex had slow sexy mo in 1x11 and 2x11 when she was ~introduced. Sara's only had the slow sexy mo in 2x05 when she too was introduced. I'm sure Kate would've had it, too, but she had the sex appeal of a week old plate of codfish.
And if Alex were any good at what she does, she wouldn't need to use her body to get what she wants. She could use her charm, but alas, she lacks any modicum of tact or class, so she just resorts to skimpy tops and leather pants. Real class act.
Finally, Sara's wardrobe is anything but overly sexy. She wears pantsuits and respectable dresses, for Christ's sake. She's a businesswoman who's confident in her beauty and doesn't feel the need to define herself in it, but also is comfortable with expressing it. I literally can't say the same for Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Who has a double standart now? Neal uses his sex appeal all the time (and I never got the impression that either of them sleeps with anyone they don't want to sleep with).
The slow mo IN COMBINATION with the special kind of music and camera angle which annoys me so much has so far used only with two other female characters the same way as with Diana (though Lauren got the camera angle, without the slow mo): Cindy (which was okay, because it was a plot point in this case) and Christy (which annoyed me to no end - the slow mo/camera treatment, not the character).
We obviously have a very different idea what is classy and what not, and what kind of dresses are reavealing and which are not, or what the appropiate clothes for someone who works in insurance is (though Sara definitly shows more bare skin than Alex, so I really don't get what your deal with the so called skimpy tops is).
Look, I have a lot of reasons for not liking Sara - it's not a dislike I had immediatly, it's something which grew slowly with every episode she is in. In my eyes she is a Mary Sue, because characters and storylines are adjusted to somehow fit her in, and I mostly blame the writers for this, because they created a character who has no value of her own.
Alex, I enjoy. Not necessarily as a love interest for Neal (I would be okay with it, but I don't mind that it didn't happened), I simply enjoy the character and the friction she brings into the story.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh, and clearly Alex's grandfather being a Nazi was soooo not out of left field for you. Right. Okay. Talk to me when you gain some common sense and let's agree to disagree, because for me, Alex has had Mary Sue stamped on her leather pants clad ass since day one.
    This argument is going nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  30. rory, why are you such a "hater" toward Alex?.. she has been a great character since season 1. the Alex fans have waited a whole season to be able to see the character back.. the show was never meant to be the Neal and Sara Ellis show. it has many characters and it is fun to watch Neal and Peter and the cast with new and old friends showing up. btw the writers know what plans they have with each character. for instance remember in S1 when they said that Alex has high up friends.. that could well come into play with the search for Neal's family.
Sara will be coming back, so you will still have your favorite on the show too. in fact I would like to see Raquel (Eliza D.) come back too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. sigh, just not another triangle please. I'm sick of these, choose this one, choose that one... why do they even bring back Alex when they have a regular like Sara AND DON'T USE IT ALMOST AT ALL??? develop this character finally!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Who says that there will be triangle?.. Alex is a strong character in her own right.  There is more to explore with her character as was eluded to in S1.  Since she is a conwoman, she keeps things interesting.. there is definetly room to develop both characters.. remembering that Neal and Peter are the Focus..

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well obviously when Neal was leaving he still got feelings for Sara, but he has a soft spot for Alex, hence my thoughts about triangle. I'm not saying it in teen-drama-triangle sense just to be clear. For me her character's dull and like someone wrote earlier she was nicely explained and written with her grandfather story. But hey, you might be right, if they develop her and it'll be interesting I'll take my words back. Until then I'm not an enthusiast for her.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Fair enough! I guess it is in how you view the characters. To me Sara has always been the lackluster and forced into the storyline character. It would have made such a big difference, IMO, to many of the viewers, if the writers gradually added her character. Her storyline in getting the Raphael back in the finale seemed a point where her character could have been completed as well. So, since the two characters will both be back on the show, we can expect something new hopefully!  As long as our Neal and Peter are the central focus, it will be great, no matter how they play the side characters!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. yes, the bromance is most important :D Alex is type of character that comes and goes when it needs to, I'm guessing Neal meets her wherever he flew off to. When it comes to Sara she still got the long lost sister plot, they might pull that up too. Crazy thought - it's Alex. JK. Anyways hope we won't be disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  36. A, please not the long-lost sister! I hope the writer go for the "let's pretent that we never tried thought that up as a contrived explanation why Sara should risk everything for Neal"
I'm wondering a little bit about Sara. Last year, they advertised with her all over the place. This year she isn't even added in promotion when all the other characters are.

    ReplyDelete
  37. To tell you the truth I don't know what to expect next season, the show is basing on Neal and Peter as work partners, don't know what the writers are planning. It was just a thought about the sister, but personally I wouldn't really mind it. It would bring some depth to Sara and maybe tell more about her past (I wouldn't mind meeting Neal's parents and hearing his history too). And I'm concerned about Sara too, maybe there's some more time, I mean I'm not living in the US but all the serious promotion doesn't start really until 1 month before the new season (as seen on spoilerTV). Maybe there's still time, I hope.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm not concerned...I'm hopeful. Imho the main Problem with Sara is that she gets too much screentime, and the screentime with her in half of the episodes she turns up in, destroys the dynamic between Peter and Neal - especially when the writers decide to stick him at home in some sort of sit-come like family time in order to make sure that Neal and Sara can be off somewhere investigating a case (I'm still trying to delete this episode out of my mind). There are a few episodes in which she worked, but that's not even half of the episodes in which she turned up in. Most of the time she is just a giant distraction. If they just HAVE to bring her back, than I hope they do it as a guest character, not as a regular.

    ReplyDelete
  39. So happy that Alex is coming back. She and Neal have some tension that you just can't ignore

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sorry to burst you bubble (and I really mean it, despite my own happyness about the news), but TV line just brought the confirmation that HB will NOT be a regular next season. She will get a couple of episodes (four at least), but she will no longer be a regular. Looks like either the writers realized that it's to difficult to include her four 10 episodes per season, or someone put their foot down and made JE clear that his crazy love for HB is not shared by a lot of WC fans.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well, in this case you will be happy to hear that HB won't be a regular next season. She will get a couple of episodes, but we will be spared the Sara-fest we got in season three.
