What I got out of it - another Bobby centric (in the penultimate too, which is usually given to Sam or Dean), Sam's hair is starting to rebel, and even Dean is starting to notice the inconsistencies in their character writing (how Sam did a 180 for no particular reason from just a few episodes ago).
I'm a bit scrared of this one. It's written by Dabb & Loflin, and they brought us the Amy storyline. Yeah, I'd rather not have Bobby's end be another Amy controversy, thanks very much.
To be fair, it's not their fault it'll be Bobby-heavy. The way this storyline is going, I doubt another writer could make it better. It just need to be dealt with.
It may be that that's where it all ends, but I haven't seen much effect on Sam and Dean yet other than they seem concerned. And to be fair, with the previous two Bobby centrics this season (Death's Door and Of Grave Importance), Sam and Dean weren't even aware of half of what Bobby was going through, so those were definitely about Bobby's journey.
Yeah, I'm grasping right now. Looked like a femur by its size. I just wonder if the writers can introduce another new character (or part of one) at this stage. Then it kind of becomes like Cas swooping down to the rescue.
Who else is out there that would fit the criteria?
Someone already dead. The remains of any deceased saint or holy person would do (as long as they can verify that the person didn't have a secret dark side). This doesn't have to be someone we already met, although I'm thinking the woman from Faith might work. She's probably dead by now and she seemed like a moral person.
I don't really know how to feel about this whole storyline. This is why I was kind of :/ about Bobby being brought back as a ghost because I knew this was the inevitable conclusion. And it's just...mean at this point. Haven't they got enough emotional scarring without having to hunt Bobby now? It's getting ridiculous. There's only so much angst two human beings could reasonably survive without going insane and they're pretty much at the limit now lol.
Yes, and angst for us as well. There's a point where it's not fun anymore. Even angst should be enjoyable, if you know what I mean.
And this year, there's so little that was really fun. The only moments, off the top of my head, were Dean singing Air Supply, high Dean, and Sam covered in glitter giving the slinky to Dean. That's quite a drought this year, while we drown in angst of the nasty sort.
Agh, I love Bobby a lot but i really want this story ended in whatever way they're planning...I don't see any way in which i'll be satisfied cuz i hate to see the boys loose Bobby again and i would hate him been resurrected too when he's got a great death and a great mourning period....so really let's just be done with it. Plus, i hate that Bobby has to point them out to Crowley when that part wasn't that hard to figure it out... duh.
Anyways, Crowley's back and tgat's what matters to me about this episode. Can't wait!!
very true its is beoming unrealistic and hard to believe that either of them would even bother with anything anymore. Life, love, hunting just everything. What is the point?
true the writers set the season up so it was inevitable we would have a Bobby and Cas heavy last few episodes. Shame they wasted so many episodes inbetween unable to write decently for Sam and Dean.
Yeah, exactly... i'm OK with Cas or Bobby giving them information they're not aware off to solve a case, but having to actually solve it for them, specially when even we figured it out as soon as we read it (because it's really not THAT cryptic), it's just lame and it doesn't make them look very smart lol. I get they're under a lot of stress but they're not stupid and i actually want them to show Bobby that they're VALID hunters without him too, not liking that he thinks they're slow without him, and that they're actually proving him right :/
*Hand raised* lazy writers work. They used Bobby to explain the plot to the audience.
We need someone on the creative staff who keep an eye on the brothers characterisation. We also need someone who sees further than the next episode IMO.
I agree and we definately do... my hopes are totally on Jeremy Carver. There are ways to let viewers know what's going on and letting us see how smart Sam and Dean are. I hate they're making me dislike Bobby's role right now due to their laziness.
Anyways, going back to focus on Crowley being back :D hehe
It's rather disturbing when the producer's preview talks more about Bobby than the actual main characters. I guess Sam and Dean have officially become supporting characters in their own show.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Dean's leather jacket!
ReplyDeleteYes, that's all I got out of this...
Might as well deal with Bobby now, there's enough work to be done in the finale.
ReplyDeleteThis really sounds like a good one. I just saw the promos for the finale. Awesome.
ReplyDeletePromos for the finale are online already ? o_O
ReplyDeleteI loved Bobby, but Ghost Bobby has to go. He's one big angst-fest ready to happen.

ReplyDeleteLet's not forget Crowley and Alpha Vamp... it can't be THAT bad. Hopefully.

ReplyDelete"even Dean is starting to notice the inconsistencies in their character writing "
ReplyDeletelol I love that comment.
Bobby look good for a ghost. they should ad some ghostly make-up.
ReplyDeleteMy hope to see Bobby human again is minimal now :-/
Are they really going to salt and burn him? That will be another brick to had in their already heavy angst bag.

ReplyDeletesecond that :-D
ReplyDeleteIt could be their newest form of meta - the characters making fun of the writing.
ReplyDeleteYes! let's not forget Crowley and ... who again? ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me, It's more about how the boys react to what's happening to Bobby than about Bobby himself.
ReplyDeleteCould the boys have dug John up to get the bone? The bone in Dean's hands in the picture on Buddy TV looked old. Possible he didn't burn thoroughly?
ReplyDeleteI doubt it but it's possible.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a clue where that righteous mortal bone come from.
They burned John.
ReplyDeleteIt may be that that's where it all ends, but I haven't seen much effect on Sam and Dean yet other than they seem concerned. ReplyDeleteMan, they really must be playing this one close to the vest if all we really got was talk about ghost Bobby...
ReplyDeleteOr her mom could just nag the Leviathans until they run back to Purgatory!

ReplyDeleteI just some more finale pictures but no promo.

Ha yeah XD Her mother did annoy me so much.
ReplyDeleteUnstable...Oh no! I don't want Bobby to leave AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteYes, and angst for us as well. There's a point where it's not fun anymore. Even angst should be enjoyable, if you know what I mean.

viewers work it out quicker than Sam and Dean and we all had the same clues? Does that seem stupid to anyone else?

ReplyDeleteso basically the writers are making fun of thier own piss poor writing now?
ReplyDeleteThis does not bode well for season 8.
I love your optimism
