Phew, I'm gonna take this as good news, this is as close to official updated as we get, I guess. Let's all tune in for the finale, everyone! We've been winning a lot of polls and this show does have a passionate fanbase, so let's watch and show them that we deserve more episodes! I've seen a lot of fan movement on tumblr, imdb and fanforum. I'm hoping they give us a chance because this show became amazing, and it would be a shame to lose it so soon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, good luck to all the other bubble shows and their fans, I know it's just as hard for you guys too, not knowing if one of your favorites will come back or not. I wish tv wasn't such a fickle business and we could all have our favorite shows safe.
Not suprised, my guess is all bubble shows will come back for short order seasons to plug the gaps in the schedule. If any of them do well (highly unlikely) in those say 13 episodes then they have the option of a back 9 order, if not then fans will have had extra episodes and the CW can cancel them without pissing off to many people. GG, Nikita, TSC and HOD 13 episodes and done? Not sure where Ringer stands. Can not wait till up fronts next week.

ReplyDeletewhile the ratings certainly wouldnt warrant a renewal the CW are limited by the number of new shows they can pick up to series which means to plug the gaps in the schedule they have to bring back some of the low rated bubble shows. All shows earn add money when they air, TSC if it were to come back would have a limited budget for advertising based on what the shows sells for/the add rate. So no matter how low there will be some money for promotion but the CW will be unlikely and unable to bolster it any more than what it earns itself. Basically it will be left to fend for itself. Which is why its chances of surviving beyond a second season no matter how long that may be are going to be extremely low.

ReplyDeleteNetworks dont officially cancel anything just before the upfronts, the point is that they are not renewed and havent been told they will be renewed, if the CW intends to cancel they will just keep them like that till the upfronts, if we hear Nikita, Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie have been renewed that will be the final nail in the coffin

ReplyDeleteThe thing about LA Complex is that it is a cheap import, the money the CW make from add sales probably covers the cost of buying the episodes and advertising the show.
ReplyDeleteShows like TSC will likely cost a hell of a lot more to make than they bring in to the net. This is something a network has to consider when deciding whether a renewal is worth their while or not. Basically if TSC isnt going to make more money than it costs to produce than the CW are unlikely to want to keep it around. Same goes for any show.

ReplyDeleteTell everyone you know to watch thursdays finale. Record it too so we get the dvr ratings up too. Im hoping for a full season order, even if they air the first 12 episodes from september october to january then break for like a week or 2 then air the rest of the season to march. No more breaks in between, more promoting and air reruns. They need to release the dvd set too I bet it does well in sales. Save secret circle!!

CW would be wasting their time renewing SECRET CIRCLE.
ReplyDeleteThey should renew NIKITA, Dixie, give Gossip Girl the farewell season and they should cut their losses with TSC and RINGER.
Gotta say, watched the whole season just for watch, didn't care much about a renewal. The last 2 or 3 episodes where really good though, made me want a new season.
