Where's the holy-crap-did-that-just-happen Vote? I don't see it anywhere. There should be something above Awesome, cuz damn, idk how Marlowe is gonna outdo this next season's finale lol.
I did feel it was rushed at the start. It was a jampacked episode, me and my friend discussed it and said it could've easily been smeared over 2 episodes. On the other hand it made the episode a rush-to-watch. I loved the talk they had, all the cards out in the open. Castle calling Kate on her bullshit, because she kept secrets/lied to him just as well as he had.
I have no words for the ending. That was touching, sweet, and sexy as hell at the same time. F*** the moonlighting curse, season five here we go. Where's the fast-forward to September button?
AWESOME! FINALLY!!! The moment the whole fandom has been waiting for and it was such an epic scene! The whole episode was intense, traumatic and emotional, just like last season's finale! :)
My little shipper heart is happy now right. It's been an extremely long time since I've been happy with how they've handled a ship.
Kate had to lose pretty much everything, including Castle, before she realized what she wanted. Apologizing to Castle and admitting all of those things, like how she only thought of him when she thought she was going to die, was really sweet. She's usually a very strong willed woman, so seeing a softer side to her is a treat.
And then there was that final scene. Holy crap, now that's a kiss! Good job to the writers and crew just as much as the cast, they really sold that scene perfectly.
Meh. This wasn't as good as I would've hoped; certainly not as good as the last season finale. I suppose it was good that the so-called "Caskett" happened, even if it was a season too late. The most disappointing aspect was the lack of resolution surrounding Beckett's shooting. This "you don't know who you're dealing with" crap has got to go next season. I voted Great.
My mind is officially BLOWN!! That was the best hour of TV I have ever seen and that is beating my all-time favorite and beloved The X-Files! That ending scene ... WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! That was perfect to keep me happy to last the summer break !! :)
EPIC ep! Great work by all tonight, as we watched Beckett/Castle slide down the rabbit hole again and taking Esposito and Ryan down with them... and of course THE ending!!!!!!!!! First and foremost thanks to Andrew Marlowe for having the stones to finally take the story there. I know that those that want the dance to continue are nervously pessimistic, I for one am optimistic as now it is the writers job to keep it fresh and sharp. and they haven't let us down yet. Besides, there are other examples of shows keeping it going once the leads hooks up (ie. Chuck) and I'm confident that Castle will be one of those as well. This ep will be rewatched more than a few times this week!
Andrew Marlowe said that in the past every answer regarding who killed Kate's mom just lead to more questions. From here on out each step forward will get them that much closer to finding out who is behind it all.
Awful and poor: 1 vote. SERIOUSLY? I think this people just wants to annoy. The entire ep. i was waitting for THE scene of the promo and i was 100% sure they where going to kiss but when i wach the ep. i though castle was going to reject Kate and because it made me doubt I LOVE this show. I think what Ryan and Esposito where great. They both do what they think was right but always thinking on what was best for Kate. I love the last scene between beckett and Castle, it was so jadkcjnskcm,m kajd i can't describe it but you must feel the same :) Conclusion, AWSOME EPISODE.
I also wanted to point out that Castle came extremely close to not having a second season. Just think of a world where it never got past that first season.
Everything in this episode was great except for one thing: the lack of progress in Beckett's mother's murder. We meet Beckett's shooter and he threatens Smith and that's it. That's not enough for a finale episode. That being said, everything else was really good.
- Beckett resigning, Espo being suspended, & Ryan being ostracized are all great little cliffhangers and interesting problems to tackle when fall comes around. - Beckett hearing Castle's voice and calling out for him as she was about to die was a really cool idea. - Next season, Castle and Beckett HAVE to start making progress on this case. They need to go on the offensive and start fighting back because this "big bad monster" shtick has to stop already. - Alexis' speech was a little ham-fisted in the way they made it parallel the events at the precinct. - Castle's speech to Kate was even better than expected because there were extra parts in the episode that were edited out of the sneak peek. - After his speech, I thought Castle would still try to help her instead of walking out and ending things like he did. What he did was the better choice for the story. - I think Kate will end up forgiving Ryan before Esposito does.
I voted awesome, and i'm sure that after the opening episode of the next season has been aired, this episode will seem even more awesome. It had kind of the part one of a two-parter feel to me.
It would rank right up there with Firefly and Studio 60. A world with one season of Castle is an alternate reality that I don't even want to think about.
I half agree with that; I'm delaying judgement on whether it was enough progress until we see how far they carry it in the season 5 premier. If they come back and immediately take another step forward, then I will say that they did plenty on the murder here, especially considering everything else they got done in 60 minutes. If they come back and don't return to the Johanna Beckett story until midseason then I'd say you're completely on point.
I agree completely on most of those points. I also believe they rushed some parts a bit, it made the whole episode feel like a freight-train going full speed ahead because it was so jampacked with stuff. I mean we go from a crime scene to precinct to another crime scene, to montgomery's widow, to a church, etc. Its a bit much.
Its small stuff tho, I loved how Ryan made that big decision, it was in the end the right thing to do, and I agree that Beckett will probably forgive him a lot faster than Espo will. (Ryan did save her life)
The talk, and Castle walking out. It was perfect, it was all Castle, he just couldn't do it, and I felt for him, and the decision he made there, that was rather gutsy. Beckett took 'his' hand in the precinct, and she again came to his house. I think she made good progress there.
And yeah, the 'big bad' thing looming about has to stop, and I hope indeed Castle and Beckett will finally take the fight to the bad guys instead of waiting to have them take more potshots at them (or their families for that matter)
yep, it wasnt as good as it seemed from the promos, but i still liked it, a lot! it was a good way for Castle and Becket to finally come clean about every single feeling they have for each other , that's the part i liked the most! but i kinda exptected more action with all the shooting thing. i guees we'll have to wait till season 5 D:
I agree with u on most points, but i think this episode has to be seen in conjuction with next seasons opener and with the final scene in mind, i'm pretty sure that they dont get to be happy for that long before shit start coming their way. I could imagine next season starting the morning after this episode, with either Martha or Alexis, or the both of them walking in on Castle and Beckett and somewhere during the day, the shooter will attempt to kill Beckett yet again...
I have always believed that individual episodes have to stand on their own merits. Using one episode to justify another doesn't really work for me, especially on a procedural cop show, so I can't agree with you here. If this was billed as a two-part episode or they even gave us a "to be continued" I would have judged it differently but, as it stands, I don't believe enough progress was made for a finale episode.
I do believe Marlowe stated somewhere that this is actually in fact a 2 parter. And that because of the nature of the 2 partner no time would pass between the season ending and the new season opener.
"I also believe they rushed some parts a bit, it made the whole episode feel like a freight-train going full speed ahead because it was so jampacked with stuff."
The episode's pace was definitely frantic. I guess I didn't mind all that much because there were still parts of the episode that slowed it down and allowed the show to breathe a little like the Castle / Alexis talk or the confession scene between Rick and Kate.
In order for cliffhangers to not be one big endless tease then they often have to be accompanied by some form of resolution, and i think this episode was so packed with cliffhangers that he has to treat this finale and the opener of next season as two-parters, in order for him to be able to wrap up this part of the Joanna Beckett murder storyline satisfyingly
Yep you're probably right about that. I'm reserving judgement on the solving/progressing of her mother's murder case until season 5 opener anyways. In the meantime imma wear out the replay button on the finale during the summer.
Castle could easily spend the entire premiere episode dealing exclusively with the fallout from Beckett's resignation and Esposito's suspension so I don't necessarily think that they'll have to go back to the Beckett case right away.
I can also easily see a little time jump from finale to premiere.
On second thought, you might be right about that one. I just figured that it could be a believable way for Gates to allow Beckett to return if it was initially to protect her and while doing that she would learn enough about Becketts case to better be able accept Becketts actions during the finale
I also just realized that with no Beckett at the precinct, there's no Castle at the precinct either. Even when Kate does eventually get her job back (and we all know she will) Gates is not going to make it easy for Rick to come back now that she finally has him gone. So, the show will have that to deal with also.
Oh man... All I can think now (with what's left of my brain) is, now that Kate's resigned... Is Castle taking /her/ to the Hamptons this time around? Oh, the scenes that spring to mind!
(Amazing episode, and that kiss was well worth the wait. Thank you, thank you Mr. Marlowe! Now we just need to get Espo and Ryan back on the same page -- and maybe figure out that whole 'Kate's unemployed and about to be killed' issue! -- and all shall be right with the world.)
eeeeeeeee!! that was hot, sweet, full of emotions loooove! I wanted more of Caskett's last scene though. but I would want more anyway, can never get enough their hotness! Season 5, can't wait for you already!! the loooooong wait begins
It was soooooo awesome. Didn't take my eyes off my screen for those 42 minutes. They should of done a hour season finale. I think they could of put a lot more context into it. Did you see Gates face when Kate resigned? That awesome. She is probably going to get a lot of shit for letting their best detective go. She deserves it. I soooooooo dislike her!!! Now the suffering of watinf 4 months for the next season to start. aaaaaarrrgggggg
I loved the episode, but it ended so quickly! Although I really enjoyed all the drama my favourite part was when Castle said to Alexis "The most worthwhile things in life are often the most difficult, for example (Beckett calls).. wow, that really is a smart phone". And it annoyed me a little that in the kiss scene when she says "I just want you" she leans to kiss him, but then they go for another angle with the camera and her head is far again. They could've done it better, we waited 4 years...
Esposito's face in Gates' office was so sad. I think Ryan made the right call and I think Esposito will realize that. I also loved the smile Kate had on her face before she resigned. It was like she was saying "The joke's on you Gates. I don't want to work here anymore." I am curious to see how Castle will take it when he finds out she resigned. I hope they don't already have her back at the precinct when the show comes back on.
I agree...last season had a better cliffhanger. I'm really happy with the Caskett matter, but everything else was developed in a insane rush, ending in a sudden drift at the cliff border...and we still don't have a clue about who's behind this.
Ok, don't totally hate me... I did enjoy the episode, I am glad that they got together.. but They totes waited too long Its the fifth season and they are just now getting into a relationship, that by the way went from a fake non kiss cover to sex. Uh. ok?It was great, good for them, and I wonder how kates gonna get out of the house thenext day withouth Martha or Alexis catching her. but well, thats for season 5. WOot Woot.
And might i add, damn Tahmoh Penikett is one big s.o.b, it happens so rarely for me, but for once i actually found the fight scenes beliveable, with the way they had Stana gasping for air halfway through and Tahmoh just standing there smiling at her, wondering when she has had enough.
It's gonna be a hell of a long summer... this episode was beyond awesome. First, I was scared to press 'play', afraid that I got my hopes up with all the attention this episode had been getting. Little did I know. Pace was frantic, scenes were short (except for the rooftop one, which - I have to say - seemed to be over the top)... those 42 minutes flew by.
From the dialogues to the acting and the directing, the photography and the wardrobe department... everything was perfect. Castle's speech at Beckcett's place was amazing, romantic without being too mushy, it was such a beautiful, heartful love confession. And don't get me started on Beckett's last lines. He's the writer, she's known for not talking that much. Well, 'I just want you' and the triple 'I'm so sorry Castle' were perfect.
Thank God for Andrew W. Marlowe. Bring on season 5, ABC !
I DONT THINK THERE IS A BUTTON TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL ATM........ I loved it all, i did feel it was a bit rushed in places like the building scene. I just hope they solve Kate's mum murder soon cause i feel like they are starting to drag that out a bit. But on another note KATE AND CASTLE WERE MAKING OUT AND GOING TO HAVE SOME VERY HOT SEXY!!!!!! I NEED SEPTEMBER ALREADY!!! i need to kno what Kate is going to do she doesn't have a job :(
Well pretty good episode, but there no "big cliffanger" this year. And 'm desapointed to see continuity mistakes for a finale! com'on guys be careful with what; the kiss scene and the scene on the roof was really important for fans! It's a shame to see mistakes in there!
What did I think? WHAT DID I THINK?!! I was thinking like, how the hell am I supose to wait 4 months till next season.. Amazing, just perfect ending.. After all this time Beckett has finally admited to herself and to Castle how she really feels.. Im just sorry she had to lose everything else first.. Oh well, you cant have it all.. Amazing!
THANK YOU, Paula. At least someone is on my side. It's not really the Caskett thing that bothered me the most (though I think dragging it out this entire season was mediocre writing on Marlowe's part); it's that the big mystery of Beckett's mother wasn't addressed in a meaningful way. Sure they found the Pretty-Boy-Assassin who actually shot Beckett, but we have no idea of who he is OR who he's working for. I almost threw my shoe at the TV when he said that line about "you don't know what you're getting into". If they really wanted to throw a twist in, why didn't they have PBA talking to Gates on the phone? I'll be watching next season, but unless the direction of the series is corrected (and fast), I'll just have to bow out.
Words cannot express my adoration for this episode. The writing the acting. EVERYTHING was superb. I think it would be pretty awesome if Kate decided to become a private detective or something...I don't know.
Finally got around to watching! As ill-timed as it was, I'm glad Castle finally gave his "I love you" speech to Beckett's face. Everything's out there now... no more room for miscommunication on his side! And oh my gosh, when she was hanging off that ledge... when she thought it was Castle that came back for her, but saw that it was actually Ryan, my heart broke a little for her. And what the heck is she going to do now that she quit? I also loved Alexis' speech... funny how it applied to more than just her fellow graduates haha..
Altogether, a pretty awesome episode. It wasn't quite as action-packed as I was expecting, but great nonetheless. And hey, Ausiello's blind item is finally revealed! I think we all knew it was going to be this show from the start :)
Great episode! When Stana was hanging off that ledge,my heart dropped into my stomach and my mouth went dry,and when she heard her name being call i was as much surprised as she was wen she saw Rick.
I'm not surprised she quit but she will go back, she still has to catch the killer and i'm sure the Captain didn't do anything yet..Really what is she going to do,and what do they do with the rest of the cast,so she will be back..
Thinking about it the killer could of easily killed Beckett, but didn't,after all the threats she would be killed if she got any closer, then why didn't he just step on her hands? Anyway..
That kiss! That kiss! That kiss! That kiss was hot! So hot it damn neared fried my tv!...Seriously you know how some actors kiss and it looks so fake, that you rather not have them have a kissing scene? Not Castle & Beckett, they know how to work that scene and man i can't wait for next season!
I agree with what you have been saying.Does Gates know that Castle hasn't been around? I don't remember her telling him he couldn't be working with Beckett anymore.Did i miss something?
Gates hasn't said anything to Castle but Gates has never made any secret of the fact that she doesn't want Castle around. Now, with Kate resigning, she has her wish and Castle is gone.
Now that Gates has what she wants she has no reason to let him back in.
Yes, I agree. Ryan was right to do what he did. But Kate and Esposito were right too, they don't know who to trust.
My problem with the episode was after the explosive season 3 finale, the whole conspiracy case all but moved 1 cm further. That case is the best part of the show, they need to utilize it! They did not tell why after 11 months were they looking for the files now.
But the episode was great overall. The speech given by Alexis in the end was great, and look on Castle's face as she read it, wow. Great performance by Nathan Fillion.
I was hoping that they were going to reveal the man behind the curtain this time, but alas they didn't. I'm hoping they get around to it before the interest fades. And, I hope "Smith" has copies of the file hidden away somewhere in case he dies. I mean, he is one of the only good guys (I am assuming he's good as he is helping protect Beckett) who knows the whole picture and he has to have anticipated they are going to gun for him. You don't blackmail the dragon, you slay it or you stay the fuck away.
I stumbled across this article, which might imply that the show picks up the morning after, but it still remains to be seen whether or not that includes picking up on the Joanna Beckett case as well
And i will reiterate an earlier point, that if the pick up the morning after, then they are fools if the dont have at least Alexis walk in on them. The comedic potential in such a scene is amazing
Finally!! This season has been hit-and-miss for me but I'm so happy they finally went there.
But how could they break up Ryan and Esposito? Kinda petty of Espo - after all Beckett would be dead if he hadn't turned up.
One downside...I really hope the story of Johanna Beckett's murder is wrapped up soon. There was no movement on the storyline in this ep. I've always hated the conspiracy part of it, I don't even think I understand most of it but it's dragging on now. Solve it and reveal the 'big bad'!
I'm in the minority here and voted OK. It was definitely a shipper's delight but that boat sailed by the beginning of this season for me. My main concern is that in the end nothing besides Castle and Beckett happened. Alexis graduated, Ryan was right but hurt his partnership, Castle and Beckett got it on, and nothing significant happened in the mytharc. We've been on this story arc for years and we're still not one bit closer than we were a year ago. I guess I just expected more from the season finale. At this point they need to either go full throttle into this story line (without Beckett being myopic and Esposito being a drone) or dump it. Just like last year they should have went with the relationship or killed any possibility of it. There is only so much back and forth waffling a story can take before it loses steam and becomes a show albatross.
I agree. If you watch Castle for the relationship between Castle and Beckett then this was awesome. If you watch it for the case, it was not. I also agree that the whole "Caskett" thing sailed last year. It should have been resolved then. They now run the risk of dragging the conspiracy angle out too long too. They need to develop it early on next season and bring it to a head by the season finale.
I think you can be a Castle fan and not be a Caskett fan. I originally was a shipper in this series but lost interest in that side of the story when they dragged it out way too long a la Bones. I'm glad they finally resolved this but for me it is 1+ seasons too late. Now I would rather concentrate on the secondary characters, especially Esposito, Ryan, Alexis and Martha.
I will agree with the critisisms that the case parts were a little lackluster, but I can't say cared. (the only thing that was fantastic was the rooftop fight scene. Tahmoh baby!!!!)
The procedural and "mythology" aspects of the show have never been a huge draw for me. The mythology is meh. I mean yes the backstory has shaped Kate into the brilliant person she is, but when she deals with the case itself I think it brings out the absolute worst in her, and that totally tunes me out of caring to much about it. And the procedural aspect I find quite juvenile. 9 cases out of 10 tend to be very, VERY, easy to crack.
I watch for the relationships (all of them not just Castle/Beckett) and the emotional stuff, because to me that it where the show's hook is. And this episode hit all the right notes in those departments so I was very happy with how everything was handled. From the Caskett to the Ryan/Javi fallout, to Kate quiting and realsing how unhealthy it has been for her to be so consumed in her mother's murder, to the parallels between Kate-Espo/Castle-Ryan, to Alexis graduating.... everything!
~ that boat sailed by the beginning of this season for me (...) Just like last year they should have went with the relationship or killed any possibility of it ~
I get your frustration and giving up on the shipping. I had told myself I'd let them play with my frustration just this one year because the signs that they weren't ready were still there. If I hadn't gotten my payoff in this episode then I would have realised that AM simply wasn't wakling the talk. But he did and in the end I felt that I got my payoff so I'm good.
~ nothing significant happened in the mytharc. We've been on this story arc for years and we're still not one bit closer than we were a year ago. I guess I just expected more from the season finale. At this point they need to either go full throttle into this story line (without Beckett being myopic and Esposito being a drone) or dump it. ~
I've never found the mytharc too engaging. Yes it is the reason Beckett is who she is and that is a marvelous person, but when she does deal with the case.... I don't know she suddenly turns into this annoying hypocrite and as you said develops this myopic "my way or the highway and nobody else gets a rational say" attitude that IMO completelly eliminates who she really is (I'll also agree with you on Espo being a "drone" but that's a whole other discussion). I just feel this case brings out the worst in her so I really can't bring myself to care too much about it. Maybe taking a step back letting her learn how to approach it a bit more rationally, that might actually end up giving them a new perspective and eventually making some headway in the actual case itself... *shrugs*
I agree that Kate is hardest to take when she is working her mother's case. I think that is part of the reason why I want them to finish this thread next year. Uncover the conspiracy, put it to rest, and move on. Castle does not need an overarching plot so they should resolve it quickly.
I also wanted to point out that Castle came extremely close to not having a second season. Just think of a world where it never got past that first season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Where's the HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT WAS GREAT option?
ReplyDeleteI'm so dead right now !!!
ReplyDeleteI loved it! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, sex! I really wish they hadn't cut away, though for that awesome end.
ReplyDeleteAnd whoa at that end! Ryan was in the right - And he saved Kate. But she annoyed me a little, so I'm glad she gave up on that quest like that.
Cannot wait for season five!
OMG it was just amazing...

ReplyDeleteit was a good way for Castle and Becket to finally come clean about every single feeling they have for each other , that's the part i liked the most! but i kinda exptected more action with all the shooting thing.
i guees we'll have to wait till season 5 D:
I agree with u on most points, but i think this episode has to be seen in conjuction with next seasons opener and with the final scene in mind, i'm pretty sure that they dont get to be happy for that long before shit start coming their way. I could imagine next season starting the morning after this episode, with either Martha or Alexis, or the both of them walking in on Castle and Beckett and somewhere during the day, the shooter will attempt to kill Beckett yet again...
ReplyDeleteha, i thought they blind item were April and Jackson
ReplyDeletebut i like Castle and Beckett more! haha
ReplyDeleteI do believe Marlowe stated somewhere that this is actually in fact a 2 parter. And that because of the nature of the 2 partner no time would pass between the season ending and the new season opener.
ReplyDelete"I also believe they rushed some parts a bit, it made the whole episode
ReplyDeletefeel like a freight-train going full speed ahead because it was so
jampacked with stuff."
The episode's pace was definitely frantic. I guess I didn't mind all that much because there were still parts of the episode that slowed it down and allowed the show to breathe a little like the Castle / Alexis talk or the confession scene between Rick and Kate.
I'm sure Marlowe will be giving a lot of post-episode interviews so we should get some clarity on what we'll be coming back to in 5x01 pretty soon.
ReplyDeleteIn order for cliffhangers to not be one big endless tease then they often have to be accompanied by some form of resolution, and i think this episode was so packed with cliffhangers that he has to treat this finale and the opener of next season as two-parters, in order for him to be able to wrap up this part of the Joanna Beckett murder storyline satisfyingly
ReplyDeleteYep you're probably right about that. I'm reserving judgement on the solving/progressing of her mother's murder case until season 5 opener anyways. In the meantime imma wear out the replay button on the finale during the summer.
ReplyDeleteCastle could easily spend the entire premiere episode dealing exclusively with the fallout from Beckett's resignation and Esposito's suspension so I don't necessarily think that they'll have to go back to the Beckett case right away.
ReplyDeleteI can also easily see a little time jump from finale to premiere.
Loved it! It's going to be a long 4 months!
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, you might be right about that one. I just figured that it could be a believable way for Gates to allow Beckett to return if it was initially to protect her and while doing that she would learn enough about Becketts case to better be able accept Becketts actions during the finale
ReplyDeleteI also just realized that with no Beckett at the precinct, there's no Castle at the precinct either. Even when Kate does eventually get her job back (and we all know she will) Gates is not going to make it easy for Rick to come back now that she finally has him gone. So, the show will have that to deal with also.
ReplyDeleteYep! All these posts tonight were typed by the zombie horde. :)
ReplyDeleteAll hail Andrew Marlowe!
Anyone who votes that this was OK, Poor or Awful is NOT AN TRUE CASTLE & CASKETT FAN!
ReplyDeleteOh man...
ReplyDeleteAll I can think now (with what's left of my brain) is, now that Kate's resigned...
ReplyDeleteSeason 5, can't wait for you already!! the loooooong wait begins
BEST SEASON FINALE EVER!! BEST SHOW EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a rating ABOVE GREAT. Phenomenal. Out of this world. Something more! Because 'Great' doesn't cut it.
ReplyDelete*vomits double rainbows* FUCK! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteI'm a crying mess. Someone put me out of my happy misery. 4 MONTHS? FUCK THIS.
ReplyDeleteI loved the episode, but it ended so quickly! Although I really enjoyed all the drama my favourite part was when Castle said to Alexis "The most worthwhile things in life are often the most difficult, for example (Beckett calls).. wow, that really is a smart phone".
ReplyDeleteAnd it annoyed me a little that in the kiss scene when she says "I just want you" she leans to kiss him, but then they go for another angle with the camera and her head is far again.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you...she bends twice...
ReplyDeleteABOUT FUCKING TIME
ReplyDeleteWho the hell are the 5 fother muckers who thought this episode was awful?!?
ReplyDeleteThis episode was the BEST. BIRTHDAY PRESENT. EVER!!! :DDDDD
I agree...last season had a better cliffhanger. I'm really happy with the Caskett matter, but everything else was developed in a insane rush, ending in a sudden drift at the cliff border...and we still don't have a clue about who's behind this.
ReplyDeleteOk, don't totally hate me... WOot Woot.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday.
ReplyDeleteAmazing episode! I freaking loved it and can't wait for next season. Caskett finally happened!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd might i add, damn Tahmoh Penikett is one big s.o.b, it happens so rarely for me, but for once i actually found the fight scenes beliveable, with the way they had Stana gasping for air halfway through and Tahmoh just standing there smiling at her, wondering when she has had enough.
ReplyDeleteWould someone please freakin give Stana Katic an Emmy or Golden Globe or something...this episode was EPIC!!
ReplyDeletethis was the best season finale ever :)
ReplyDeleteMartha's in the Hamptons and Alexis is away for the night...
ReplyDeleteWhere is the option "It killed me?"
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be a hell of a long summer... this episode was beyond awesome. First, I was scared to press 'play', afraid that I got my hopes up with all the attention this episode had been getting. Little did I know. Pace was frantic, scenes were short (except for the rooftop one, which - I have to say - seemed to be over the top)... those 42 minutes flew by.
ReplyDeleteFrom the dialogues to the acting and the directing, the photography and the wardrobe department... everything was perfect.
Finally it has happened.
ReplyDeleteI DONT THINK THERE IS A BUTTON TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL ATM........ I NEED SEPTEMBER ALREADY!!! i need to kno what Kate is going to do she doesn't have a job :(
ReplyDeleteIt was just PERFECT and I'm not gonna be able to handle a 4-month hiatus
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!! So happy, the entire fandom just had an amazing day!!
ReplyDeleteAH MAN HOW DO THEY DO IT, HOW DO THEY TOP WHAT WAS FOR ME A BRILLIANT SEASON FINALE LAST YEAR?!
ReplyDeleteTV at its very best!! everything you could ever want, EVERYTHING!
Well pretty good episode, but there no "big cliffanger" this year. And 'm desapointed to see continuity mistakes for a finale! com'on guys be careful with what; the kiss scene and the scene on the roof was really important for fans! It's a shame to see mistakes in there!
ReplyDeleteanyway i'm happy to see them together!
where is the HOLY SHIT I AM DEAD option?
ReplyDeleteWhat did I think? WHAT DID I THINK?!! I was thinking like, how the hell am I supose to wait 4 months till next season.. Amazing, just perfect ending.. After all this time Beckett has finally admited to herself and to Castle how she really feels.. Im just sorry she had to lose everything else first.. Oh well, you cant have it all.. Amazing!
ReplyDeletebreathless that my opinion of these episode kate calling castle in that edge & love scene aparment wooow
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Need something better than awesome! PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU, Paula. At least someone is on my side. It's not really the Caskett thing that bothered me the most (though I think dragging it out this entire season was mediocre writing on Marlowe's part); it's that the big mystery of Beckett's mother wasn't addressed in a meaningful way.
ReplyDeleteSure they found the Pretty-Boy-Assassin who actually shot Beckett, but we have no idea of who he is OR who he's working for.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be pretty awesome if Kate decided to become a private detective or something...I don't know.
ReplyDeleteAltogether, a pretty awesome episode.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised she quit but she will go back, she still has to catch the killer and i'm sure the Captain didn't do anything yet..Really what is she going to do,and what do they do with the rest of the cast,so she will be back..
ReplyDeletehahaha pretty much this!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! What else?
ReplyDeleteok Ryan moves to the top of my list for 'most logical character' :D good job!
ReplyDeleteGates hasn't said anything to Castle but Gates has never made any secret of the fact that she doesn't want Castle around. Now, with Kate resigning, she has her wish and Castle is gone.
ReplyDeleteNow that Gates has what she wants she has no reason to let him back in.
There definitely needs to be a button above Awesome on this poll labelled "OMFG Hyperventilating SQUEEEEE".
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. Ryan was right to do what he did. But Kate and Esposito were right too, they don't know who to trust.
ReplyDeleteMy problem with the episode was after the explosive season 3 finale, the whole conspiracy case all but moved 1 cm further.
You don't blackmail the dragon, you slay it or you stay the fuck away.
http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/castle-season-5-scoop-from-creator-andrew-marlowe.html
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across this article, which might imply that the show picks up the morning after, but it still remains to be seen whether or not that includes picking up on the Joanna Beckett case as well
And i will reiterate an earlier point, that if the pick up the morning after, then they are fools if the dont have at least Alexis walk in on them. The comedic potential in such a scene is amazing
ReplyDeleteAlexis is returning at midday so it's likely kate's still there isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWOW Perfect tv show is perfect.
ReplyDeleteFinally!! This season has been hit-and-miss for me but I'm so happy they finally went there.
ReplyDeleteBut how could they break up Ryan and Esposito?
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI think you can be a Castle fan and not be a Caskett fan.
ReplyDeleteProbably...now that she doesn't have a job.
ReplyDeleteOMG ... finally. Kate Beckett you lucky bitch.
ReplyDeleteWords can not describe the feelings of elation! Way to go Castle Crew and Actors! Season 4 ended perfectly! Onward to Season 5!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteI will agree with the critisisms that the case parts were a little lackluster, but I can't say cared.
From the Caskett to the Ryan/Javi fallout, to Kate quiting and realsing how unhealthy it has been for her to be so consumed in her mother's murder, to the parallels between Kate-Espo/Castle-Ryan, to Alexis graduating.... everything!
Well done Andrew Marlowe!
~ that boat sailed by the beginning of this season for me (...) Just like last year they should have went with the relationship or killed any possibility of it ~
ReplyDeleteI get your frustration and giving up on the shipping.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to point out that Castle came extremely close to not having a second season. Just think of a world where it never got past that first season.
ReplyDelete
