      it ha been said a couple of weeks ago that Meredith, Cristina and Alex wouldn't die, along with Bailey, Jackson and Kepner. This only adds one more name to the safe list: Derek. There's still plenty of charactera to choose from, so keep guessing!

    That's great and all, but it's not really soothing my fears that Webber's going to be the one to die... I refuse to make my peace with it yet. I AM glad I'll have more Alex in my life, though. Hopefully the poor guy will get some semblance of happiness next season!

     Alex had to come back.  I've been waiting eight damn seasons to see a stable, happy, successful Alex.  EVERYONE on this show has had their turn in that regard except for Alex, Grey's Anatomy's perennial whipping boy.

    We only get the basics about Alex.  We know his childhood sucked (mentally ill mother, violent father who left) and that his brother now has the same illness his mother had.  Hell, we didn't even meet Alex's brother until 2010.  The least they could do is bring Alex's sister Amber on the show or something.

    If Callie and/or Arizona are going to leave, I am not sure if I will keep watching. Though I am happy that Ellen, Patrick, Sandra and Justin will stay. I just hope Jessica and Sara will stay too. They are my favourites, by far. I am so scared. :(

    YES!!! I couldn't care less who dies after that!!! Hopefully it'll be Teddy..... But, maybe it'll be Lexie!!! Who cares, the originals are all signed on!! WHOOP!!! More MerDer for two more seasons!! I'm so glad there were no hold outs in the negotiations!!! I was afraid that Patrick would be the hold out and we would have to wait ages for his contract to be signed but..... God, I'm so happy!!! :D :D !!!

    i was thinking the same, if anyone was gonna delay it would of been Patrick but then i thought about it and he isn't gonna be in the state's much during hiatus believe he is off to france to race so they probably had to sign now so that it was settled before reporting back in july.
    All i'll say is woooo hoooo!!!!!

    Really worried it is going to be Teddy or April - I would be pretty distraught either way. It can't be either Callie or Arizona can it? It just seems to horrible to do that. Jackson....I don't know how I'd feel about that, I would be upset but not as much as I would be if it was anyone else (although I am liking the Jackson/April thing)

    Lexie? NO I REFUSE. This will not happen. I will kill someone myself if it does.

    Okay with the six originals back, plus Ausiello telling us that Mark and Jackson are safe. KMK has already said he will be back for Season 9 and Sarah Drew implied that she will be back via some story I read but I can't remember where.. That leaves Arizona, Callie, Lexie and Teddy plus the two babies up for elimination.

      TY!!! I thought KMK said he was coming back. People were saying that he was the one who was gonna die and I'm like wasn't he signed on through season 10? Regardless of what people think about him, his character has brought out so much in Cristina as person that I cannot see them getting rid of him now. I can't see him dying and Cristina's life is ruined once again. I want to see them slowly rebuild their relationship.

    The babies are not on the table.Shonda is not stupid,if a baby was to die that you be the end of the parents,it would destroy them for years,no way is Shonda going to touch that not only would it be the kiss of death for the storyline,but people would be outraged that she used babies.No the babies are NOT fair game.

    The entire premise is based on drama and giving them the worst possible things happen to them and see how they survive it. When Shonda was writing the season finale, she tweeted this quote from author Kurt Vonnegut: "Be a Sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them — in order that the reader may see what they are made of." So a baby dying is right up making the most awful things happen to them.
    As for Shonda's willingness to kill babies as part of the storyline, Amelia's baby - the one without a brain - is going to die on Private Practice finale.
    While I am not saying that the babies are going to die, this is all speculation. Remember it is Shonda who is writing this.

I also read an interview she did recently,i do not remember the exact wording but it was something to the effect that there are certain things you cannot do..I will try to find it.

    Are you talking about the press release, it actually states that "Faced with a life threatening situation, the doctors must fight to stay alive while trying to save the lives of their peers"
    It is not just one person who will be in danger. Jessica Capshaw tweeted that  " EVERY character's fate hangs in the balance. That's what makes it so thrilling! Lean into the pain, people and enjoy the ride ;)"

    Totally agree. Alex is THE reason I watch. He deserves a story about HIM that doesn't involve him taking care of some crazy woman or getting dumped on over and over. This is so over due. So happy he's returning. I need something to go well for him already.

    Yesssssss! I really hope it isn't lexie, I would like to see more of her! But.. her death would be very dramatic, would have a large impact on everyone, and could make sense cause chyler leigh wanted more time with her family before..!
