FOX are currently making final pickup decision and could announce their pickups later today according to Variety.
FOX is expected to pick up at least 3 dramas.
Mastermind is in the lead followed by the mafia doctor pilot then legal drama Guilty, Karyn Usher teen spy drama could still make it but its chances seem slim.
Comedy wise FOX i expected to pickup 3 to 4 comedies.
Untitled Mindy Kaling and "Ben Fox is My Manny," seem certain "El Jefe," "Rebounding," "The Goodwin Games," and possibly "Little Brother" and fighting for the remaining slot(s).
I'm pretty much only interested in the Mindy Kaling pilot and Goodwin Games.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Goodwin Games
Deletewhat about Zachary Levi's Let it go :O!?
ReplyDeleteif its not mentioned its probably dead
ReplyDeleteDamn. That Karen Usher pilot was the one I was most interested in. I only have a mild interest in the doctor pilot and I don't give a rat's ass about Guilty or any of FOX's sitcom pilots.
ReplyDeleteNot Mastermind? You disappoin me dear Klutzy.
ReplyDeleteNot liking FOX-development this year. Mastermind is the only one i care about
ReplyDeletei guess they are afraid of high concept/ genre shows after all their recent flops
ReplyDeleteI'm really pumped for Mastermind, and The Goodwin Games doesn't sound that bad at all.
ReplyDeleteExcept these two shows, as long as I have new seasons of Raising Hope and Fringe (and, to a lesser extent, the Seth MacFarlane shows as well), I don't care what FOX picks up or cancels. I'd like it if Touch and Alcatraz came back but I wouldn't be too upset if they didn't.
At least FOX had the decency to announce the renewals* before the pickup of their new series. That's right, I'm looking at you, NBC, ordering no less than five new "comedies" and not even announcing the renewal of the great ones currently in your Thursday lineup, and then hinting at possible shortened orders for Community and Parks & Recreation (and 30 Rock), grrr.
* Well, most of their renewals. I guess they're still hesitating between cancelling Touch or not. If it's renewed, I'd say it could end up on Mondays at 9pm (the old 24 time slot), following Bones. Alcatraz and The Finder don't seem like they can realistically have a shot at renewal.
Although Alcatraz could be paired with Fringe on Fridays, or else take over in January 2013 with a 13-episode 2nd season (I don't think FOX will spend money on a full season starting at mid-season, 24-style) when Fringe has finished its final 13-episode run, occurring from September to December 2012...
OH ! December 21, 2012 is a FRIDAY ! FOX would be wise to program the Series Finale of Fringe on that day. The 100th and last episode of Fringe (a show where the destruction of the world(s) is a recurring theme) airing on the day the Mayans said the world would end would be pretty awesome.
I'm on the Teen-Spy-Drama camp, but other than that, I'll 100% agree with your assesment over FOX's development for next season.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I can't remember all the pilots! Depending on if it gets picked up or not, I'll check it out later.
ReplyDeleteThe Goodwin Games sounds really interesting
ReplyDeleteRenew ALCATRAZ!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Fox had any pilots I was interested in... but will wait and see what is picked up and then look at what they are about.
ReplyDeleteROOTING for "THE GOODWIN GAMES"
ReplyDeleteMastermind = YES² !
ReplyDeleteGuilty = Wait & see
Karyn Usher spy drama = we need this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here.
ReplyDeleteMastermind eventually but the cast doesn't appeal me and the writer/producer ... well, let's just say I'm not a fan of vampires diaries.
YEAH!!! THE GOODWIN GAMES PICKED UP TO SERIES!!!!!! Can hardly wait for upfront schedules!!!!
