1600 Penn and Animal Practice - NBC orders to series

The network has given series orders to 1600 Penn, a White House family comedy written by and co-starring Book of Mormon's Josh Gad and penned by former White House speechwriter and Modern Family helmer Jason Winer.

In addition, the network has ordered Animal Practice to series. The office comedy revolves around a House-like veterinarian (Justin Kirk) who loves animals but typically hates their owners.


Tyler Labine, Bobby Lee and Amy Huberman co-star in the project that hails from exec producers/writers EP/W Brian Gatewood, Alessandro Tanaka; EP Scott Armstrong, Ravi Nandan; EP/D Anthony and Joe Russo

  2. I might check out Justin Kirk's show but I have no interest in 1600 Penn.  I remember Josh Gad from Kelsey Grammer's "Back To You" series and he was the worst part about that show.

  5. Does this mean the extremely talented Justin Kirk has been freed from Weeds? Because hell yes! I love the man but he has been so underused in recent Weeds seasons. Hope this turns out to be good.

  6. Animal Practice has been on my pilot radar so I'm glad to hear it got picked up. Fingers crossed this one sticks for Tyler. (also does anyone know if it's gonna be a half hour?)

    I go back and forth on 1600 Penn.... I guess I'll eventually check it out but with very low expectations.
