And this is not an April Fools' joke.
The half hour talk show, which hails from Chelsea Handler’s Borderline Amazing Productions, will feature Cummings riffing on celebrities and pop culture.
Whitney Cummings is adding another network to her résumé. In a bid to grow its comedy portfolio, E! has ordered a weekly half-hour talk show featuring the comedian, who in addition to starring in NBC's Whitney, co-created CBS's 2 Broke Girls with showrunner Michael Patrick King. The series, titled Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings, will be paired with The Soup (hosted by Community's Joel McHale) on Wednesdays at 10:30 pm later this year.
Celebrities, relationships and pop culture will serve as fodder for Cummings, who gained recognition years earlier as a member of another E! late night series, Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Lately. On Love You, she will be joined by guests, fellow comedians and sidekick Julian McCullough.
In a statement, Cummings said : "This show gives me a chance to get back to my stand-up roots. I'm really excited to be able to say almost whatever I'd like on TV again". Cummings’ series, which will be announced at the cable network's upfront presentation Monday, is being produced by Handler’s Borderline Amazing Productions, with Handler, Cummings and Tom Brunelle serving as executive producers.
