WHAT THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER — Alaric (Matt Davis) finds an unexpected ally to guide him on his dangerous new path, while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Meredith (guest star Torrey Devitto) try to figure out what their next move should be. At the school’s 1920s Decade Dance, Bonnie (Kat Graham) asks Jamie (guest star Robert Ri’chard) to go with her and, at Caroline’s (Candice Accola) suggestion, Elena (Nina Dobrev) asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) to be her date. Caroline is pleasantly surprised when Tyler (Michael Trevino) shows up at the dance determined to sweep her off her feet, but Klaus (Joseph Morgan) does his best to come between them. The dance takes a deadly turn when Damon and Stefan realize they need the help of Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and especially Bonnie to undo a spell that could prove devastating for everyone. Josh Butler directed the episode written by Michael Narducci (#320).

I guess that means Jeremy is back in town. Also, I'll be interested to see Damon and Meredith team up since those two definitely do not like each other.
ReplyDeleteWell she did kind of roofie him and steal his blood...with Damon all you got to do is ask, though he probably would have wanted blood in return!
ReplyDeleteYay 20's dance! Every dance is an opportunity to pretend they still go to school and have some show down where Elena almost dies. Last time it was AlaraKlaus that caused havoc so what's it gonna be this time hmm. Looking forward to the costumes too! Kind of wish Katherine would crash in her 20s outfit from Chicago.
ReplyDeleteYay!! Decade dances are always fun!
ReplyDeleteSomebody bad always crashes the party.
ReplyDeleteSo happy TC is finally getting a dance. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe Bonnie's spell is for breaking the bond between Originals and other vampires. Tyler and Caroline!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDamon partnering with Meredith? Huh... and I love how they're trying to make Matt useful haha
ReplyDeleteOh now I do wish Katherine crashes the party ... she is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteTo me, this kind of means he'll probably die... He's done pretty much nothing for so long and now he's always there???
ReplyDeleteWhat will happen to Ric now??? =O
ReplyDeleteI'm scared for him...
You know, you might be right haha.. maybe they're just giving him a last hurrah before one of the Originals rips his throat out.
ReplyDeleteME TOO! FINALLY! YAYYYY
ReplyDeleteFORWOOD FTW
TYLER AND CAROLINE

Yay, Stefan & Elena going to the dance together. That's great! I wonder what the spell will be. The one we already know about, kill one original and kill it's entire vampiric bloodline? Or will it be something else entirely now that the original witch knows her spell has been broken in a way. Did she do something new? It could be possible, right? I surely hope Damon, Stefan, Bonnie, Matt and Jeremy will pull it off eventually. I do wonder, however, why Elena is not involved? Is it because she's the doppelganger? We all know she hates it to be left out of the loop and tends to take matters in her own hands (in some kind of way) if she's left out and that hasn't turned out good on most occasions, as I remember it.
ReplyDeletePersonally I hope they'll find a way to disconnect the bloodline from the dying original. And perhaps a way where Klaus doesn't dye, but isn't a hybrid anymore? Maybe as a result from whatever they have to do. For Bonnie that would be a nice revenge, I think, but what would he do? Do the whole process again? Hmmm... back to where we started. Not a good idea. Scratch that.
I can't imagine Katherine accepting the possibility that she might die, so I have the feeling/hope that she may return to prevent the original from who's bloodline she is being killed. That would be interesting, wouldn't? I would like to see her back. She is a very interesting character. And perhaps she can teach Elena to be ... tougher, not sure how to describe it. But I've still got the feeling Elena's is too dependent on the Salvatores and other man to come to her rescue, despite the fact that she's training/has trained with Alaric. It's time she puts some real effort into it. But maybe that's just too..... I don't know.
Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
xoxo yep
ReplyDeleteI want Katherine back but didn't one of the writers in a recent interview say we wouldn't see her for the rest of the season? Not that I trust these writers at their word (or writers for any CW show in general) but fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteTyler and Caroline ALWAYS AND FOREVER :)
ReplyDeleteI want Katherine backk too
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Katherine comes back before the season finale!
ReplyDeleteThat would be way to convenient! (Which of course probable mean that's exactly what will happen.) And if that's possible, they should get Bonnie to undo Elena's blood connection to Tatia then. Since magic solves everything.
ReplyDeleteMatt's not gonna die because he's a token human. Same for Bonnie - token witch. I see Tyler dying before any of those characters. Alaric too seems like a likely victim.
ReplyDeleteShe's definitely back in the season finale. It was revealed when Ian posted the title for the finale because you could see a call sheet underneath which had both Elena and Katherine on it.
ReplyDeletefor Bonnie you forgot token black person as well... but I wouldn't mind if they killed her off she doesn't get much screen time anyway and I am sure there are a ton of other witches out there in TVD universe that could be a lot more interesting and a lot less sullen and judgmental, just saying
ReplyDeleteThanks for proving my point...so glad to hear... I don't know if it is intentional that Nina/the writers make Elena so boring, weak and stupid and Katherine so awesome but I just wish I could actually care about Elena's character for once, I mean technically this is her story but personally anytime Caroline isn't around I tend zone out (she has the best character evolution on the show period)
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe they can find a more easy-going witch who is more open-minded about murder and cheating boyfriends. Or at the very least, one who doesn't get all sad and mopey, whenever her loved ones are sacrificed to save the life of Elena or her vampire boyfriends. Clearly, her purpose in life is to selflessly serve others; instead of whining, she should feel honored. LMAO!
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly has she "sacrficied"? Her grandmother died doing a spell, her boyfriend cheated on her, and her horrible mother got turned into a Vampire to save the life of an innnocent 18 year old girl.
ReplyDeleteFor this show, she's probably the character who's had it the easiest.
I think you're being sarcastic right? Her grandmother, who was like a mother, died doing a spell to save Damon and Stefan. I never said that losing a cheating boyfriend was a sacrifice, so I'm not sure what you're debating there. Bonnie's mother is no more "horrible" than the average character on this show...but it's her mother. Everyone has experienced loss, but unlike the other main characters, Bonnie now seems to be completely alone, so yeah, it's sad. Anyway, no one can force you to feel empathy for a character you don't care about, which is really the underlying issue.
ReplyDeleteThe underlying issue is the character's complete lack of storyline. I have no reason to care about her or her losses, but I don't hate her for it. I just take issue with the assertion that she "constantly sacrifices". She has sacrified no more than any other human character, and probably less than Elena.
ReplyDeleteFirst, grandma was like her mother? Not really. Her dad didn't like her hanging around with her grandmother and they really only kindled a relationship after Bonnie found out she was a witch. She was dead a few months later. Her mother is horrible. She abandoned her because she couldn't deal with her own problems: Twice now. Barely knew her, and really, Damon turning her was the morally right thing to do. Complicate the life of a fourty year old woman or let an 18 year old die outright - it's an easy choice.
Bonnie has her father (off-screen). She has Caroline, Matt and yes, Elena. Hardly nothing. Interestingly, all three of her "losses" came from getting involved when she was explicitly asked not to get involved.
Elena meanwhile lost her mother, father, aunt, birth mom, birth dad, sent her brother away and now she's probably going to lose the last and closest thing she has to a guardian.
Elena's blandness is a consequence of the show never dedicating any story to her character development. Sure, she's in every scene and every storyline revolves around her, but everything eventually is really about Stelena/Delena or Stefan/Damon, but never about Elena as a person. Even though we will see her parents in the season finale, it will once again revolved around her romantic relationship - Stelena - instead of being about Elena, the person. That's why Elena is boring. Because she has no identity.
ReplyDeleteKatherine is awesome because regardless of her good or bad actions, she has a clear POV.
I guess you missed my tone of sarcasm... but thanks for replying
ReplyDeleteIn a show where half the characters devote every waking moment to saving Elena, it really doesn't make sense to argue that she has no one.
ReplyDeleteSince we know absolutely nothing about Bonnie's off-screen father, it's hard to make any assumptions about their relationship (unless we're talking fan-fiction). And Matt is Elena's ex-boyfriend who continues to pine after her. Not Bonnie's.
Yikes, Hellfire. Didn't detect the sarcasm. Would have saved me a lot of time!
