FELICIA DAY (“THE GUILD,” “EUREKA”) GUEST STARS — Dick Roman (James Patrick Stuart) acquires Frank’s hard drive that contains sensitive information about the Winchesters and gives it to an unsuspecting brilliant hacker named Charlie (guest star Day) telling her she has 48 hours to crack the firewall or she is fired. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are tipped off that Dick has the hard drive and race to get to Charlie before she breaks the code. Meanwhile, Bobby (Jim Beaver) tries to help the brothers, but his rage towards Dick for killing him starts to get in the way. John MacCarthy directed the episode written by Robbie Thompson (#720).

  1. Aw, Bobby, no! Don't become Evil Ghost!Bobby.

    And yay, this sounds interesting.

  2. "Ghost Bobby" is getting his own storyline?  I'm starting to feel even better about the showrunner change now.

  3. Nice to see Bobby sticking around. Now only if Castiel gets better and does some angel magic resurrection (it has been established they can do it) Plus Castiel is kind of the reason why Bobby is dead. If he didn't let out the Leviathans, Bobby would still be alive.

  4.  You do realize this episode was writtent weeks before Gamble chose to step out ?

  5.  It shouldn't have gone far enough that a ghost was getting his own storyline in the first place.  If they wanted to keep Bobby around they shouldn't have killed him.  This is just silly.

  6. This exactly. They've painted themselves into a corner with the whole "let's kill off every friend the Winchesters ever had" thing and now they're trying to extricate themselves and it's just awkward. They should either just flat out resurrect Bobby or salt and burn whatever they have to so that he moves on permanently.

  7. Ack...While I'll be very happy to continue to see Bobby, not like this...
However, the main story of the episode seems interesting, and I'm looking forward to that.

  8. What's dead should stay dead. I LOVE Bobby, but this kind of cheapens his death. I'm happy to see him but i agree giving him a storyline as a ghost is a bit lame. Especially considering Sam's was dropped so abruptly and Dean well he never gets one anyway.

  9. I think they'll end up torching the flask, and I too an not thrilled about Bobby's return if it means he's the one who helps the boys to destroy the Leviathans. But I still it could be interesting to find out how angry spirits are born from Bobby's POV. :)

  10. So Bobby is going poltergeist earlier than scheduled.  Not sure what I think of this idea, but I bet the execution of it rocks.  I'm confused what kind of sensitive info the Winchesters are worried about given that the Leviathans already know everything Cas knew and he spied on them for 2 years.

  11. Christ, you people complain about anything. You bitched so hard when Bobby was gone and demanded him back. He's back and you still bitch. It's the same damn thing with Cas. STFU and enjoy the show.

  13. Ahhh Bobby! I love you! :D

I don't care what anyone else thinks, I'm so happy to have him and Cas back in some way! So much better then them being dead...er, gone for good. Though most likely Bobby may have to move on/be put to rest. Why did they have to kill him in the first place? :( It was pointless. Even with Bobby and Cas gone the boys were never truly alone. They still had help. It was a bit more harder to get someone to help them, but not that much.

  14. What kind of "sensitive" information about the brothers could possibly be stored in one of Frank's hard drives ? Dean's login credentials to his BustyAsianBeauties premium account ?

  15. They may just need an evil ghost on their side to help take out dick.

  16. The show writers are better than that - they planned Bobby's death and knew that meant exploring his ghosthood, because on this show, death has NEVER been the final curtain for main characters. It's not even the final curtain for characters who are really close to the brothers; both their mom and dad were ghosts, remember? It makes total sense that Bobby would be one too. Death isn't a corner this show can accidentally get itself cornered into, because they've been manipulating it for like seven years now - they even turned it into a character that can be literally put on a leash. Supernatural OWNS death on so many levels it's just plain disturbing. So if they want to turn Bobby into a ghost and see where they can go with that, I'm all for seeing what they come up with, because they've proved they know what they're doing.

  17. Don't you think Death's Door was one of the best episodes since the Season 5 arc? Hasn't the depth of Bobby's character improved and his connection to the brothers meant so much more since? Nothing about this new development for Bobby has been pointless to me. He's died, and he hasn't even really returned to life, only continued past the stage of Death and his story isn't over yet! He was killed so that we can see him as a ghost, and see what he does for them as a ghost, not as if he never died. I'm sincerely interested in GhostBobby, I wish others could see the potential and stop thinking his ghostly return is rendering his death pointless. That makes no sense. He couldn't be a ghost unless he was DEAD. Connect the dots, people.

  18. That was the exact same thought that came to me as soon as I read the synopsis!

The boys have nothing and nothing to hide either, except maybee how many hairs they have  on their chests and how oftten Dean tells Sam he needs a haircut!! Muh!

  19.  I absolutely agree, if you have as good character as Bobby was, you don't kill him off; you put him in mothballs for a while and pull him out when you need him.

His death was such a great episode, and to try and find ways around it to bring him back just cheapens it.

That said, If they really had to bring him back, I prefer him in ghostly form, where there is a certain logic to it, than brought back as Samuel was in season six.

  20. Bobby as a badass ghost? Cool!! I just hope that he doesn't completely ruin things for the boys...

  21. They foreshadowed Bobby becoming killer ghost back in Born Again Identity with the haunted girl by her dead brother who also when crazy.

It was the only reason for that part of the episode. To foreshadow Bobby's return and eventual turning into a bloodthirsty spirit. Otherwise, it was just taking up time of an episode that needed more time (I mean, really what are the odds of a haunted crazy girl meeting and befriending a hunter right who was put in the same mental ward right when she needed it?).

  22. lol That's the whole episode there. They really never got the concept of teasers, promos and summaries, did they?

  23. Thank goodness for Leviathans!  I'm looking forward to Felicia Day, but not angry ghost Bobby - we don't want him to become a vengeful spirit!  :(

  24. This is going to be a good one.  I can hardly wait.

  25. I thought they went by the name of Smith now, which is hardly worth keeping in a hard drive.

And even though other identities could be stored in that hard drive, since they know it was stolen, all they have to do is pick other names o_O

  26. Aww...hope Bobby doesn't give in to the anger!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Bobby will find a way to help the boys find Dick Roman and save the day as always. Can't wait!
