NOW I know why so many ppl comment about wanting to see Bo and Dyson back together. They have this adventurous relationship and it can be a vicariously addicting thing to watch.
Why isn't Kris in more movies? He is really charming and hot.
I thought he was still there for Bo, but he was either broke from what the Norn did or enthralled. So he wasn't himself and can't wait for S3 to see him kickin butt w/ the team.
I won't say it was a favorite episode of season 1, but after watching s2, it is vastly better than pretty much the entirety of the back nine. I <3 the team working together. Bo, Dyson, Hale, and Kenzi have great energy with each other, and they all like each other and have individual relationships that build together really well. It has it's cheesy, goofy moments, but I could watch the four of them on COTW episodes for quite awhile, and that is saying something.
Plus, I really miss that happy smile on Dyson's face.
He was there for Bo during the first half of the season (which I was okay with, even though I missed their relationship and thought he gave up on that too easily). But then he went "emo" and then the finale.....
The forced dissolution of the team was hard to take. Without Dyson's warmth/chemistry whatever you want to call it the show felt really cold and isolated. He didn't actively do anything wrong, but he didn't make things right either. And I missed that.
Watching this episode now, knowing what I know, made 1.12 really poignant and even sadder than it was the first time.
Sorry, yeah, you're right. In the first half, especially after the cage fighting one when they decided to be friends again. I could/should have been more specific about the two halves of the S2. xD
I just don't know moving forward to expect more like the back 9 w/o ML or hope that Emily Andras thinks that what made S1 good was the same stuff that I do. From reading other blogs, I'm in the minority of commenters. Most fans who post/comment think this episode was terrible and think that more Bo/Lauren will fix things. But since there was so little Bo/Lauren in season one, I just don't understand how that will fix the dynamics.
If they could do Bo/Lauren chemistry like that the "foot soup" episode, I'd be more okay with it because that was the only time I enjoyed their chemistry. But seeing as the writers prefer angst between those two, I seriously doubt that will fix anything.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

So...I'm watching an okay monster of the week ep and playing angry birds and wham! My attention is yanked back to the screen.
ReplyDeleteeasily the worst episode of the season.
ReplyDeleteYES! Lol. But yes this is why we enjoy Bo/Dyson and why it annoyed us how flat they made Dyson this year.
ReplyDelete9 -> 12 were definately a weak point in season 1 for me after the amazing 5 -> 8
ReplyDeleteNot my favorite episode, but any episode without Lauren leaves me a little bored.

But at least with the first half of the season, the writers gave us some sparks. They were few and far between, but they were still there.
