In Plain Sight - Season 5 - April 4th declared In Plain Sight Day in Albuquerque

Apr 4, 2012

A television show that has called Albuquerque home for more than five years is saying goodbye to the Duke City. USA's In Plain Sight shot its last episode Tuesday.

In Plain Sight has been huge for Albuquerque. Not only has it employed dozens of local actors and workers, it has also brough more than $65 million to the city.

So on Tuesday, Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry went over to say thanks.

It is a show that made all of us in Albuquerque feel a little more special. Friday nights you could turn on USA and see parts of home pop up on the screen.

So it was no surprise when the mayor showed up on set to personally thank the cast and crew.

"I Richard Berry, Mayor of the city of Albuquerque, hereby proclaim April 4, 2012 as 'In Plain Sight Day.'"

  1. Aw, that's sweet! And somewhat sad.

Please end up together, Mary/Marshall. (And Norah, since Mark's parenting skills seem to suck.)

  2. Ha. I'm sure in some regions, all 365 days of the year will be the Day of something. Like, some day, someone will come up with Cookie Day or Cat Day, because there's just not enough special days in the calendar.

Well, if they do that for In Plain Sight, they better be doing this for Breaking Bad as well. I don't watch In Plain Sight but I'm sure that Breaking Bas, through its amazing directing and photography, has shown Albuquerque in the most amazing way for 5 years, too (even though, granted, it's the home of meth dealers).

  5. While I do agree with you-- I think that probably the fact that Breaking Bad is about meth dealing could be a reason why they don't want to do the same for the show. Another possibility is that USA and the producers of In Pain Sight probably campaigned for this...you never know what happens behind the scenes unless they tell us
