Eureka‘s co-creator Jaime Paglia and stars Colin Ferguson and Neil Grayston promised the show’s final episode will deliver for fans, and say next week’s episode is a shocker. “When you’re not coming back [for another season] you can hit things a little harder,” Ferguson told critics at a press conference in Pasadena. “It’s an amazing episode.
“We’re going out on best season that we’ve done,” Ferguson said of the show, which returned for its fifth and final season on Monday. “Like hands down. It’s not even debatable.”
“We wrote it in record time,” added Paglia of the series finale. “We broke the story in two days and wrote it in three. And the thing I’m most proud of about this entire experience … was we were able to pull that off without it being horrendous and stressful.’”
“‘Eureka — not horrendous,’” joked Ferguson, who later added he’s quite happy with his character’s final hour. “As many times as he’s saved [the town of] Eureka, the truth of the series is Eureka ends up saving him,” he hinted.
Yet one of the biggest surprises is not in the finale, but in the next episode.”One of the most shocking things that happen this season happens in the next episode,” Grayston said. “A lot of people are going to be mad.”
