Finally watched the first 2 eps and am kinda torn. The pilot was a bit on the weak side, as it felt like a lot of the jokes were written and paced to have a laugh track behind them, but thankfully didn't have one. The second ep was better, but still rough in spots. I do think that there is decent potential here as I really like the lead alot, (Dreama Walker?) and feel that Krysten Ritter has more beyond her odd sexiness to offer. The secondary characters were off to me, including James Van der Beek playing himself as the situations of living up to/trying to get past his past of being Dawson were amusing, but seems like unless the writers give him more depth/direction, this will get old quickly. I'll give it a few more eps and decide whether or not to keep it around later.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Being in Europe I can't see any of this, so if any of you happen to see these episodes and fancy doing a brief review.... ;)

ReplyDeleteAppreciate the review. Guess I'll save a handful of episodes for a rainy day and see if it finds its way.
