The Walking Dead - Episode 2.12 - Better Angels - Full Synopsis

Mar 5, 2012

Episode begins with Dale's funeral. Rick makes a speech, intercut with Andrea, Daryl, Shane and T-Dog killing some random walkers in a field. Funeral ends with Rick saying that the group has to set aside their differences and pull together in honor of Dale. Cue theme music.

Hershel finally allows everybody to move into the house. Rick decides to let Randall loose instead of killing him, just like they had originally planned. Shane gets all mad at the idea, but Rick says it's his decision and Shane needs to shut up. Later, Carl reveals to Shane that he done fucked up and stole Daryl's gun as well as released that walker from the swamp, but asks him not to tell anyone. While Shane is building a lookout platform, Lori comes to talk to him. She thanks him for everything he had done (saving them from Atlanta, etc.) and says she's truly sorry for all the crap that happened between them.

Shane asks Rick that he and Daryl be allowed to go dump Randall, but Rick refuses. Shane then tells Rick about what Carl did and gives him Daryl's gun. Rick has a talk with his son and basically tells him to grow up. Meanwhile, Shane sneaks into the shed and releases Randall. They secretly leave the farm and take off into the woods together. Shane tells the kid that he wants to join their group and asks Randall where it is. He tells Shane that they have a camp on a highway five miles away. Shane then proceeds to snap his neck. (CONT'D)

CONT'D) The group discovers that Randall is gone and gets all panicked. Suddenly, a bloody Shane appears. He says that Randall knocked him out and escaped (he actually smashed his head into a tree after killing Randall) and that he tried to run after him. Two pairs head out to look for Randall: Glenn & Daryl and Rick & Shane. Daryl uses his epic tracking skills to deduce that Randall and Shane actually walked together and had a scuffle near the tree with Shane's blood on it. Then, a zombie-Randall appears. Daryl misses with his crossbow, there's a fight, Glenn takes out Randall. Daryl uses his epic Sherlock skills to deduce that Randall was killed by a broken neck and zombified in spite of having no bite marks.

Shane and Rick meanwhile arrive on a field. Rick tells Shane that he knows Shane plans to kill him there. Shane plans to pin the murder on Randall and says he's better for Lori and that Rick has no idea how to fix the situation. Shane wants Rick to raise his gun so he wouldn't have to kill an unarmed man. Rick talks him out of the murder, telling him that there's still a way out of it. As Shane is lowering his gun, Rick stabs him in the chest, killing him. Carl appears, having left the farm looking for them, and sees Shane rising from the dead while Rick's back is turned. He shoots Shane in the head, attracting a nearby group of walkers. Rick and Carl stand over Shane's corpse, oblivious to the huge horde of walkers approaching the farm from the woods. End episode.

  6. Since these detailed synopses have been coming out, I've been enjoying the show more. Go figure.

  7. Holy shit ... I am just speechless over this - thanks for the spoilers.  I'm actually enjoying the eps more for reading them as it gives me time to digest (no pun intended) what I'm about to witness.

Ok, I'm not entirely speechless ... DIE SHANE DIE!!!

  8.  No, otherwise everyone would already be a walker. It's something like, everyone is infected somehow, and you don't need to be bit/scratched to get it. Therefore, there is no escaping it.

  9.  its german for 'the shane, the' tehe

  10. That's what I thought he whispered to him...but Rick seems not to know that they don't need to be bit......why else stab Shane in the chest and not then shoot him in the head before turning his back on him?

  11. I have to admit I've been disappointed with some of the deviations from the Comic series. I thought Dale's death and the unavoidably of zombification both had much more dynamic and jarring conclusions in the comics. And Shane's death has been waaaay over due.

  12.  To let him become a walker out of spite?  What better way to punish the guy.

  13. I'm not sure the "if you die you automatically become a zombie" idea is right. Those two cops that were zombies with no bites didn't show any indications of being killed or dead.Other deaths haven't automatically become zombies.I suppose it's possible that the infection "mutated" but to me the idea of death automatically leading to being a zombie would be a story killer.

  16. Somehow I am sad, that Shane didn´t find a way back because
I like Jon Bernthal very much. ... But in his current state of mind I am happy that he dies.

  17. The 4chan thread got too long and as they do at 300 posts they too it down. Anyone find the new one.Walker is good for accurate spoilers.

  18. yes everyone turns into a zombie (unless their brains are destroyed) after dying. The bits kill by massive infection like a monitor lizzard bite - not necessarily the"zombie virus". An amputation could save you if you are bitten.

  19. but I am still confounded it this it the secret Jenner wispered to Rick. Rick has shown he can keep a secret. He knew Shane and Lori did the nasty in his absence and kept it to himself for quite some time. He was careful to shoot the men in the bar in their heads even after the chubby urineator was clearly dead  (to stop zombification?).

  20. Me too. And I've gotta get a hold of those comics. I'm now ready to read them.

  21. my best guess about the secret - Rick "carries" the virus but is ammune or caries a different strain or mutation that does not lead to zombification. This would also explain his extended stay at the hopital in the first episode. It may explain why he survied days and days without food or water. How else could he survive?

  22. yea your probably right but now i really want to know how it happens.

  23. Good idea about Shane in the hospital. I don't think Shane was lying when he assumed that Rick would have to be dead.

Then a bite or a scratch from a zombie may not directly kill you, but causes a severe infection that kills. Then you're dead--welcome to zombieland.

  24.  to be silent in the kill, not attracting attention.   and then to let Shane rise and be what he'd tried to be all season, without feelings.
he prolly planned to wait for him to turn b/f stabbing him in the head, but is interrupted by Carl.

I think Rick does know everyone is infected and like not bringing up Lori's affair to keep the peace, he doesn't want to crush the hope they have left of remaining 'normal'.  Like a lot of leaders he'll keeps painful truths to himself so others don't have to bear the burden

  25. Not claiming anything is wrong, but scene in pickup shows Andrea with Shane and people in back so she's in episode. Also other released trailer shows a lot more than a scene where Rick tells Carl to grow up, he gives him a gun and says he's tired and not good at profound words like his father.

  26. does anyone have a link to Walkers thread? since 4chan is offline

  27.  I definitely believe it's what Jenner told Rick at the end of last season.  It jives with how we've seen him behave so far, like you pointed out with the men in the bar.  The only theory I have for the bodies still on the highway in the premiere ... perhaps they were immune?  With EVERY disease/virus/whatever throughout history, there is ALWAYS a percentage of the population who are immune.

    ReplyDelete
  28.  Really? Because being bitten by a zombie is 100% sure that you'll get infected by it. Not every bite leads to infection. Magically becoming a zombie because of zombie bite is as retarded as out of nowhere everyone becoming zombies at death when it hadn't happened yet in the past.
