Episode 7.21 which was previously called "In Case Of Emergency" seems to now be called "Reading Is Fundamental".

This episode will feature a character called K.Tran who will also appear in Episode 7.22 and 7.23.

  1. "Reading is Fundamental"-- very obscure sort of title!
    Could mean anything.

K .Tran, a character for the three episode final arc. Hmm!
    Curiouser and curiouser

  2. The role of K. Tran being cast is for either Male or Female.

I believe the role is for that of a "teenager" who becomes some sort of profit

  3. You know, i was going to write that the K. Tran was left purposely ambiguous, and you have confirmed it. :)

I however have to say that your mention of the word "teenager" has given me a horribly negative vibe!

  4. Sounds rather facetious. I do like better when my shows have more serious sounding titles and SPN has kinda maxed out my "funny title" quota.

  5. Could be, but then it could also be quite literal as  in "reading the spell correctly is fundamental". :) lol

  6. They might as well name every episode "INSERT SUPPOSEDLY FUNNY TITLE HERE."

  7. Might be, but that would make it a very non-impressive title.

  8. Well, I've noticed that a lot of shows have their own kink as far as titles go-- The Mentalist has the word "red", Alcatraz, the name of the different convicts, Continuum the word "time" in every episode etc., so I just think SPN follows its own "kink" as far as the episode titles are concerned.

  9. I bet it means that there's a way how to deal with the Leviathan and it's really simple and it's somewhere in the books they went through but everybody missed it.

  10. That "kink" for SPN used to be classic rock songs. Now it's cringeworthy 'funny' titles.

  11. AWESOME snippets + title change.

I love Supernatural episode titles. I like when they're clever.

  14. Huh.. interesting.  The first thing that came to mind was maybe a hunt goes wrong because they didn't research properly.. but it could also have to do with the particulars of the case, I suppose.  Should be interesting!

  15. Teen prophet?  Ugh!  It sounds like a cross between Jesse the mysteriously vanishing AntiChrist and Chuck the unmissed cause of dissention.  I don't want to ever see Jesse or Chuck again.  Not sure I want someone to take their place though.

  16. Don't worry.  I'm sure the title will change 3 times before it's aired.

  17. Maybe  they have to pay royalties for using the rock songs as titles too, so they have gone for the weirdo money -saving episode titles that cost nothing!  :)

  18. I like the new title. Still no idea what it could be about.

  19. I second that. No teens, Chucks or Jesses!

Give me back the Wendigos- all is forgiven! :)

  20. Actually, it is only two episodes:  7.22 and 7.23, but I am curious abou ti.

  21. I agree with you.  To be  honest, I look forward to them.  I have a rather quirky sense of humor.  I always wonder why a title is selected.   I will the episodes over and over to get the correct to answer to that.

  22. Jensen mentioned the song used in Season 7 where Dean was mouthing and singing along.   The fee was $20,000 for the use of the song.

  23. I've been thinking about this.  Maybe they find some way to fight the Leviathans.  A spell could be misread.   I will hold my opinion on the possible teen prophet until I watch this.  The name is so odd for the character.  For a moment I wondered if it was an anagram for something else, hence the title of the episode, but no.

  24.  Yep. It could be that once the titles were free to use and now they have to pay.

There would have been no reason to abandon the rock titles otherwise.

Everything usually comes down to money nowadays.unfortunately.

I have always thought it funny, however, that Supernatural should have to pay for the songs they use.

After all they are giving the songs  free pubblicity when they use them.

Just think of all the extra fame "Wayward Son" got by becoming the theme song of the show.

  25. Hm! Maybe this prophet will tell everyone to read the damn Bible in which we discover that Gabriel has to defeat the Leviathans, and then we'll get Richard Speight Jr. back and everything will be beautiful and nothing will hurt!

Or maybe it will be sad and disappointing and I will cry.

Hmm. Which could be more likely? XD

  26. Interesting title, but very true indeed!

  27.  I'm pretty sure using song titles doesn't cost money, only use of the actual track and/or lyrics.
