-Ratings Breakdown:
Dominant NBC stood well above the competition, besting distant No. 2 ABC, which featured the Women Tell All edition of The Bachelor, by a hefty54 percent. Third-place CBS featured a night of all repeats, followed by Fox and encore-populated The CW.

Mega-hit The Voice on NBC rose to its highest rated regularly scheduled telecast ever (excluding the post-Super Bowl slot, of course), with a 10.3/16 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that outdelivered two-hours of year-ago occupant The Event (3.8/ 6 on 3/07/11) by 171 percent and it built from one week earlier (9.3/15 on 2/27/12) by 11 percent. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

The Voice (NBC)
8:00 p.m.: 9.7/15 (#1)
8:30 p.m.: 10.6/16 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 10.3/15 (#1)
9:30 p.m.: 10.5/16 (#1)

With greater lead-in support (and opposite repeats of both Castle on ABC and Hawaii Five-O on CBS), lead-out Smash rose it its second most-watched episode to-date with a dominant 5.8/10 at 10 p.m. While Smash did build by 21 percent from one week earlier (4.9/ 8 on 2/27/12), retention out of the 9:30 p.m. portion was still only 55 percent. And older-skewing year-ago occupant Harry’s Law was stronger at a 4.9/ 8 on 3/07/11.

Over at ABC, aforementioned The Bachelor: The Women Tell All scored a competitive 6.2/ 9 from 8-10 p.m., fluctuating by only two-tenths of a rating point in the four half-hours as follows:

The Bachelor: The Women Tell All (ABC)
8:00 p.m.: 6.2/10 (#2)
8:30 p.m.: 6.1/ 9 (#2)
9:00 p.m.: 6.3/ 9 (#2)
9:30 p.m.: 6.3/ 9 (#2)

Next Monday marks the season-finale of The Bachelor, followed by the season-premiere of Dancing With the Stars on March 19.

At 10 p.m. on ABC was a repeat of Castle at a third-place 4.6/ 8 in the overnights.

CBS traveled the repeat route last night with its line-up of How I Met Your Mother (#3: 4.3/ 7), 2 Broke Girls (#3: 4.8/ 7), Two and a Half Men (#3: 5.3/ 8), Mike & Molly (#3: 4.7/ 7) and Hawaii Five-O (#2: 4.7/ 8). Facing The Voice, no doubt, has not been beneficial to the comedy block.

Over at Fox, two-hours of recently introduced drama Alcatraz under-performed with a 3.9/ 6 from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that trailed the year-ago combination of House (7.4/11 on 3/07/11) and The Chicago Code (5.1/ by a considerable 38 percent. Here is the half-hour breakdown:

Alcatraz (Fox)
8:00 p.m.: 4.2/ 6 (#4)
8:30 p.m.: 4.0/ 6 (#4)
9:00 p.m.: 3.8/ 6 (#4)
9:30 p.m.: 3.8/ 6 (#4)

Alcatraz concludes for the season (or series) on March 26.

Last, and very least, were repeats of America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion (0.9/ 1) and Hart of Dixie (0.6/ 1) on The CW. At this point, Top Model is in dire need of a rest.
