Not the best episode...perhaps the worst I have seen. This season is full of ups and downs. I love Dyson (and Bo together) but what has happened to Dyson this season...really disappointing. I miss the old Dyson, the Dyson that cares for and protects Bo no matter what. This I lost my love so I will be reckless and I couldn't care about anyone else but myself Dyson arc is getting annoying..end it please! Give us Dyson back, with or without Bo!
I agree - Dyson is my favorite character... and while the actor did a fine job tonight, this angst arc has gone on FAR too long! Its messed up the best part of the show!
I liked it. We learn that sleeping with Bo can have some dire consequences. Trick is defo hiding lots of stuff. Ryan is gone so yey :P Also Dyson is resolving his issues, and we had Trick/Kenzi interactions so overall it was a solid ep :)
The ending was a good cliffhanger into the final eps coming up. I think the Ryan and Bo altered states gave perspective to Dyson state of mind. The craft of the filming itself was really well done. Can't wait till the next week =)
Not that bad an episode, I think we now know how Aife controlled those men, she bled into a cut (or something along those lines). Nice to see a progression on the Dyson front. Hopefully this means he's gone to fix himself.
thought it was a fun episode laughed during the dress fitting scene and was nice seeing Barb from Being Erica. wish Trick gave Bo more answers and i dont see why Bo didnt demand answer then buti guess we get Trick's deepest secret in 2.21
I have to say this. Will watch this episode later today but guys as for Dyson Angst please remember the writers were scrambling once season 2 got extended. It never meant to go on this long but I feel they needed to drag it out because it would of messed with the flow they were aiming for if they gave it back to him in the middle of the season. I'm not happy much with it either but understand what the writers must of gone through.
You are not alone. I've been wondering since the oracle in season 1. She said that Aoife was betrayed by the one she loved the most. Then, Trick takes ownership of betraying Aoife.
But I've always had a timeline problem with Aoife. Trick betrays her shortly after the end of the Great Fae War when he was still in power, then she's held captive for ??? long (a thousand years ago or thereabouts). But 28 years ago, she has Bo? I've always felt like a missed a step. Who is this dark king or whatever living in the woods around Toronto in secret?
I cried a little tear for Dyson. And I'm super'd'duper happy to Ryan leave, unless they want to bring him back in a Q-type of role. I loved his gadgets just not his pawing, unreliable, chubby dark fae a#&. But I am getting really tired of the baby talk, spazy way Silk has been playing Bo the last few episodes. She's up, she's down, she got this weird soft edge to her voice. She's twitchy. It's grating on me.
You guys don't think they'll use the thrall thing to keep Bo and Dyson apart once he gets his love back? Like he didn't really love her, it was a blood power thing?
Good question. I hadn't even thought of that....What tip me off was when he gave her the sword cane that belonged to his wife for her birthday. It just seemed like an odd gift to give someone whose only a friend/protege. That's what really got me wondering.
I doubt it, since they've never really mingled blood (that we've seen) the same way as Ryan and she did. I kind of tend to think the blood power was a recent advancement of her powers.
And I would love Ryan Q-type role. One my favorite parts of the episode was when they teamed up to go kick the "minister's" butt. He's great to have as annoying back-up, but not as an,er, boinking partner.
Yeah, they did two wife presents in Masks (the bracelet too). And there were a couple of "parenting is hard", "I'm sorry you had it rough growing up" moments in School's Out. And he did say he'd had practice "with the nurturing" when Kenzi got sick. Since he's decided to care about Bo, he has definitely taken on a paternal role. The blood/blood power tie made it seem like creating thralls was more than just a generic succubus power.
It's more of a fear than a prediction. :-O She's been bloody a lot and she has scratched him up.
I don't mind Ryan when he is breezy and funny ("I need a shot of whiskey, with a beer, and a side of strippers.") Just when he is unreliable and clingy. Maybe we could keep him in his wanna-be Tony Stark lair?
Mandav, I think the I've been holding on to the ring thing, was post-enthrallment. At the end, he said he wasn't going to get within 50 feet of her.
Yep. You are prob right, but I just realized that if Kenzie broke the enthrallment on Ryan that maybe she could fix Dyson. Maybe Kenzie was needed because she might be like her aunt in the Baba Yaga ep.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteOkay, so am I the only one whose starting to wonder if the writers are planning to reveal Trick is related to Bo somehow?

ReplyDeleteFiller.
ReplyDeleteSetup.
ReplyDeleteUgh. What's with the filler episodes lately? This second half of the season has been one huge mess.

Bo did call Trick an uncle while trying on dresses..
ReplyDeleteRyan did say he had the engagement ring for awhile and that probably means he will be back in future eps.

ReplyDeleteMy guess is the "spell" needed a human. But if they go the thrall route then it certainly seems reversible.
ReplyDeleteJust when I was starting to like Ryan (as potential back-up).
