Gave it an ok... the musical numbers were great, and the best part about the ep was the minimal screen time for the Eliis character but frankly for me the writing/characterizations have gone downhill since the pilot. The only characters that I like are Eileen and Tom (except that the writers need to have him tell off Ellis for talking like that to his writing partner and to stop make it seem like he's giving him a free pass to everything: ie. they could've shown him asking him last week why he was at the party for the Jonas brother. better yet, get rid of the Ellis character altogether - there's almost too much drama stuff going around already). I was disappointed that it feels like that they've rushed the Micheal/Julia affair, and it really makes their characters really despicable as they don't seem to really care about their families enough to fight to stay away from each other. I felt that it was bad writing once Micheal went over to Julia's as I knew that the kiss was going to happen (NBC needs to stop putting spoilers in their promos) and the son was probably going to see it or pick up on the attraction and of course now the predictability of this is that the knowledge of the affair is going to put the show thru the ringer, not to mention the adoption storyline and whatever plot they are going to have Ellis do with his knowledge of the past affair (obviously he's going to blackmail Julia with it)..... and the setup for the Karen/Dev/RJ triangle tension felt too set up and forced to me as well. Decent show, but they need to tighten up a lot of things, imho.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
