The episode starts with what would usually be a sad and solemn moment, but made it hilarious. One of Cameron’s clown mentors had passed away, and Cameron and his other clown colleagues were attending the ceremony dressed in their clown suits. It was hilarious on sight, but it got even better. As they said their last goodbyes they would use clown props and gags while keeping completely straight. Although Mitchell was smirking, I was finding it hard to believe that he wasn’t laughing his head off. One of the clowns showed up late to the ceremony, and it was apparently Cameron’s old partner, played by Bobby Cannavale, who Cameron stopped acting with when he met Mitchell. Cameron ditches Mitchell to go to the bar with the rest of the guys. They all get drunk and Cameron and his old partner end up in Cam and Mitchell’s kitchen at 4AM doing a skit for Lily. They had decided to get the old act together. For Cameron it’s just for the weekend, but his partner think it’s forever. When his partner finds this out, he sabotages the act they do for the weekend.
Manny has a new friend over who Jay is impressed with. He feels Manny is a cool kid, but is confused about how he can get such a cool Jock for a friend. Then Jay realizes that the week before he dropped Manny off on his motorcycle and thinks that the kid probably idolizes Jay. It seems highly unlikely, and it is. When the kid comes over we learn that he actually has a huge crush on Gloria. Jay doesn’t believe her, so she asks them if they’d rather go for a ride on Jay’s motorcycle or go with her to the supermarket to buy onions. When the kid quickly says he’d rather visit the supermarket Jay is shocked. Jay and Gloria begin to talk about how the kid is using Manny for Gloria, when Manny overhears. They try to cover up, but Manny is quite okay with it. He says he was using the kid to get closer to his sister, and now he doesn’t have to feel guilty anymore.
Phil is in a dilemma of his own. He’s trying to get what would be an important client, but another popular realtor sweeps it from under him. She does it in a less than honest way; as they’re both walking up to the house she purposely falls into the bushes and says he pushed her. When he later visits her and tries to catch her admitting it on a ‘spy pen’ she sees it and takes it. So, he sets her up at the supermarket by having Luke make it seem like they really need the money. She buys into it and gives him the house.
This definitely an episode I’d watch again. I really like it all around, and maybe the latter 2 incidents were a little predictable, but still funny.
