Deadline reports that Jessy Schram, recently seen as Cinderella in OUaT, has been cast to star in Last Resort. She is the last series regular cast for this exciting pilot by Shawn Ryan, which started shooting last week in Hawaii.
Jessy Schram, recurring on Falling Skies last season (and set to return in the second season premiering this summer) as the girlfriend of the über-charismatic Hal Mason, will play Sam Kendal's "dutiful wife whose patience for his return is growing thin." Sam Kendal, played by Scott Speedman, is the second-in-command of Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher).
Does that mean her character is potentially in danger on Falling Skies ? Yes, probably.

Meh... Not as impressive as some of the previous casting news.
ReplyDeleteShe never impressed me on any of the shows I have seen her, but she is capable I guess. Excluding her Falling Skies work since that show was bad on all levels! XD
The actress is nice, I guess, but I don't like this "dutiful wife waiting for her brave husband to come back" thing, especially not in a series regular capacity, it sounds like a very networkish thing to do to appeal to all demographics (that kind of thing quickly turned me off another Shawn Ryan show, CBS's The Unit).
ReplyDeleteBut still, I remain very excited about this show. Andre Braugher, Robert Patrick, David Rees Snell, Autumn Reeser, Dichen Lachman, etc + Shawn Ryan at the helm, that's one journey in submarine I want to be a part of !

ReplyDeleteDon't care too mcuh... she was fine in FS and I love her in OUaT (and I wish she'd get a more involved reccuring role in that), but as for a regualr gig, THIS regular gig, I'm quite indiferent.

Still, it is one of the pilots I'm more interested in.
