  1. Good, because the last two have been awful.

  2. maybe Jen/deb is right: 8 Seasons sounds pretty good to me.

  3. You've already overstayed your welcome. But fine, eight. The sooner the better.

  4. Dexter is long in the tooth already. It obviously delivers big ratings for Showtime, but creatively it's time to end things. Seasons 5 and 6 have been pretty bad and I have no confidence in the current writing team coming up with compelling enough material for an additional two seasons.

  5. Loved Season 5, but last year was rough on many levels!

Given the pace they have brought Dexter's story along at, I think 2 more years sounds about right as the proper amount for the endgame.

  6. Hahaha, I think she was not supposed to say that! she seems like back pedalling a bit, once she says, so very definitively : 8!

  7. i though season 5 subpar it had great moments but i enjoyed season 6 more but season 5 and 6 arent on the levels of quality of seasons 1-4 they where greatly consistent atleast the problem i had with season 5 and 6 where they had good episodes, and mediocre episodes at best but where greatly consistent like seasons 1-4 where

  8. Last year was inconstant for me, but I did still liked it. However I found Season 3 just bad. For me at least it was the worst season by far.

Season 4 was good, but not because of Dexter or the subplots for me. Lithgow stole the show. I loved Trinity. The season itself (if you look at it without Trinity) was not as good as the first 2 seasons for me. So I guess for me it has been downhill since Season 2.

For me Season 5 was more about Dexter and his evolution than the previous two seasons and that was why I liked it more. I don't watch Dexter for guest killers. I watch it to see into the mind of Dexter.

I think when a season of Dexter spends too much time on some big bad it loses the core of the series and I do not enjoy it as much. I think I am in the minority though. I know most people think Season 4 was the best, or one of the best seasons of the series.

  9. Good interview.  Carpenter's initial reaction about the show's longevity was the correct one.  Eight is enough.  :P

  10.  I think season 6's concept was interesting but it was never fully realized. When I heard Dexter is doing a season with killers that want to bring upon the apocalypse I thought it would be awesome, but it just ended up being pathetic and awful. I think they should have spend more time with the DDKs cuz especially after the big twist, he was just a regular wacko who wanted to kill people.
