Showtime’s Homeland is fortifying its ranks for Season 2, promoting two recurring players to series regular status.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Navid Negahban, who plays world-renowned terrorist Abu Nazir, will be a series regular for the acclaimed drama’s sophomore run.
Additionally, a series spokesperson confirms that David Marciano has been upped to full-time cast member, meaning Carrie, aprés-shock treatment, may get some help in reassembling any “lost” memories from her right-hand snoop, Virgil.
In assaying the Showtime drama’s sucecss, Negahban told TVLine at the premiere of the indie short Blood Moon, “The [Homeland] writers and creators have been very brave to tackle a subject that everybody thinks about but nobody talks about…. At the end, it raises the question, Who is your hero? Who is your villain? And that’s what I love about the show.”
Homeland begins production on Season 2 in May, with an eye on a likely fall premiere.
