LOVE IS IN THE AIR for almost everyone. Valentine's Day at McKinley High can only truly mean one thing, love songs and kissing. This weeks episode show cased these both in full force. Here's what went down:

Team Lesbian's: We finally get the very first Brittan kiss(s)! But not without some trouble. Santana and Brittany are pulled into the Principle's office because a student complained about their Public Display's of Affection being inappropriate. Almost the moment that they were called into the Principle's office I knew where this storyline was going and I was already shaking my head. While I love that there was a lead up to their first kiss Ryan Murphy and Co. went about it all wrong. Ryan's been an advocate for Gay teens, especially on TV and his root of making their first kiss a big deal totally ruins the moment. Ryan tries very hard to make being Gay not a big deal and yet he made their first kiss a big one. There should've been no lead up to it, just let it happen. Look at Finn and Rachel they were making out all over the place!

Santana does some investigating and figures out that The Glee Project Winner Samuel Larson who plays Joe, a home schooled Christian boy was the one who ratted them out. I have to say this, if Ryan wants every relationship to be treated the same then he is going to have to start allowing Kurt/Blaine and Santana/Brittany to kiss on screen as much as Finchel does.

Mercedes and the God Squad(?): Yes that's real. Mercedes as a good Christian joins the God Squad, all bout preaching and loving God. Other members include Joe, Sam...um when did he ever express interest in God? And Quinn...sigh....they're really going there with her AGAIN...

The God Squads first assignment is singing gram which is actually really cute although did Quinn even sing during their first number? After being propositioned by Santana the God Squad has to decide if they are okay singing about love to a gay couple. While I had no issue with anybody other than Joe not being okay the scene turned out hilarious and really meaningful. This is a great scene and a testament to the writers who could've turned Quinn or Joe into someone preachy, instead they took a practical root which translates into, the Bible is meant to be taken for its contexts not literally.

Without the help of God Mercedes has to make a decision about Sam and Shane one that has her incredibly torn. Mercedes admits to Sam that she told Shane about them and also admitted that she couldn't understand the type of person she was for lying and cheating to her boyfriend. She decides that she needs some time alone before she does anything further. So are her and Shane still together or are they broken up? Really at this point I actually want to see Sam and Mercedes together, while the storyline really doesn't interest me I am actually enjoying the progression it is making.

Stomp at little louder, Sugar: Sugar, after paying the remaining money for Regional's, decides to have a big Valentine's party at Bread-sticks or now known as the Sugar Shack where everyone is invited but they have to bring a date because she doesn't like single people. Vanessa is totally on the money with her loose and daft comedy, she always brings the laughs.

This leads Artie and Rory both fighting for Sugars love and the chance to be her date. After Artie and Rory give candy, fancy lockers and puppies Sugar makes her final decision based on the song the boys sing. Spoiler Alert Rory wins and it is shady....more on that later.

Forever Yours, Love your Secret Admirer: Turns out Kurt's got himself a secret love, so much so that he doesn't even know who it is. While he suspects its Blaine being romantic, it turns out to be....Karofsky! Shocked so was I, I literally yelled out OH MY GOD! and then laughed because it's Glee and what do you expect. While everyone and Kurt are shocked Karofsky declares his affection for Kurt saying it is because of him that he is slowly becoming more comfortable with his sexuality and he realizes its because of Kurt. While Kurt is clearly shocked he very gently and kindly tells Karofsky that he is miss placing his affection for Kurt and while faltered he's with Blaine who he very much loves.

This scene by both actors was played beautifully. You understand Kurt's hesitance but can see that Karofsky has come a long way, but not too far. When he is confronted by a friend from school Dave is quick to make an exit Gorilla suit in head, oh yeah that happened.

Truthfully this episode was really about meeting Rachel's dad's played by the weird but still amazing Jeff Goldblum who plays Hiram and Broadway Legend Brian Stokes Mitchel who plays LeRoy. Together they are quite the pair and it becomes clear very quickly where Rachel gets...everything from.

Hiram and LeRoy confront Finn and Rachel at school about their engagement and instead of telling them they are too young actually embrace their choice. After getting her fathers approval she and Finn tell the Glee club about their engagement. Tina and Artie are on board while Quinn is getting shafted. Kurt is still being a child about the situation and Santana oddly thinks its a good idea but expects it to end badly.

A Hummel-Hudson Berry Valentines Dinner takes place at the Berry house, minus Kurt. Where LeRoy and Hiram continue to encourage their child's engagement so much so that Finn is invited to spend the night. While the dinner was super awkward it all served its purpose when we learn that the Berry's are not on board at all with Rachel and Finn's engagement and are trying reverse psychology to get the kids to see its a bad idea. DO they not know who their daughter is?

Upstairs in one of the best scene's of the episode Finn and Rachel get ready for bed. In an hilarious monologue Rachel runs us through her nightly routine we see her take some very elaborate steps to get ready for bed. When Finn wants to use the bathroom after a 'large meal' Rachel refuses to allow him to do 'that' in her bathroom. Finn not seeing a problem with it decides he has no problem going with her in the same room. This little scene was just made up of so many fantastic comical and sweet moments. Rachel's horror of what Finn intends to do is fantastic and even more so in Finn's solution.

Oddly I find a lot of character growth in this scene. Finn is clearly comfortable in being with Rachel in every way possible, while Rachel has a normal response to the whole situation. This scene truly made it feel like they were actually a couple getting ready to move in together. Of course that doesn't last when Finn accuses Rachel of assuming he has no plans when they get to New York except to sip diet coke and cheer her on. It causes a little fight but a scene later they are cuddled up on bed, both expressing that it is going to be hard being together and living on top of each other but they are both confident they can do it.

These two character's have come a long way, especially from last year's fiasco filled Valentine's day. It's good to see Ryan giving these two a mature relationship something they have to work hard for. While Rachel and Finn decide that they are going to get married in May after National's it seems that that day may arrive sooner rather than later.

The Music- Download or Pass:

L.O.V.E-Team Chang: Tina and Mike sing the most iconic love song ever and while they both sounded lovely I really found myself not caring. The trick that these writers have yet to overcome is how to make character's that aren't Rachel, Finn and Kurt interesting, unfortunately Tina and Mike suffer the most. Pass! It's the most obvious song and they did nothing special with it. Time to give them better songs to sing.

Stereo Heart: The God Squad hired by Finn sing a Love Tell-a-gram to Rachel. While you are distracted by the fact that everyone is wearing hats and gloves in clearly 100 degree California weather and pretending to be cold, the song is really catchy and Samuele's voice is awesome on the song. I will always cringe when Chord raps but Download, its cute and catchy.

Let Me Love You-Artie and the boys: YES! Kevin's boy band voice is so perfect for this song and it served its purpose for the episode. Download. Kevin's voice is so good and the song is still good.

I Will Always Love You-Mercedes: With the unfortunate events of Whitney Houston passing this Sunday, this cover was all the more special. While Amber can literally sing anything, this song was a too obvious choice for her, someone like Lea should sing this song, switch it up. It played perfectly to the scene and really great emotion from both Amber and Chord. Download, but you won't listen to it for too long, its good but it lacks the emotional power that Whitney had. You don't have to see Whitney to know what she's feeling, but that is lost in Amber's version the song only has meaning when you see her.

Home-Rory: OH MY GOD what is with Ryan and CO. giving Damion such depressing songs to sing? Give hims something in an higher octave for gods sake. Pass. It's good but when you realize his little plan involving this song and Sugar choosing him you'll be pissed and then just disappointed.

You're the Top-The Berry's: NO, just no! What is this song. While it was cute it was probably the weirdest song that's even been done, besides Run Joey Run, which lets be honest is kind of epic. Pass.

Cherish/Cherish-The God Squad: Yes to this! Quinn on lead was so amazing. I love Dianna's voice and she doesn't sing enough but songs like this are perfection. Download. Also it was a love oh gram from Santana to Brittany where the two shared and dance and smooch and it was great. Download again.

Love Shack-New Directions/God Squad: While it's an obvious choice its still great, fun and upbeat. With a surprise from Blaine who's eye has healed in two weeks. Download cause its fun.

Next weeks Glee is the last until April 10th. Be pissed cause I am.
