-Ratings Breakdown:
Fox led the Monday overnights opposite repeats on CBS, with a two-tenth of a rating point advantage above second-place ABC. Third overall was CBS, followed by distant NBC and The CW.
In week three news, Alcatraz on Fox was consistent at a third-place 5.7 rating/8 share in the overnights at 9 p.m. Comparably, retention for Alcatraz out of lead-in House (#2: 5.8/ 9 at 8 p.m.) was a rock-solid 98 percent; and the growth from year-ago occupant Lie To Me (4.5/ 7 on 2/01/11) was 27 percent. Alcatraz, at present, is similar to former Fox drama Prison Break, and that drama lasted four seasons.
On ABC, two-hours of The Bachelor scored a 6.0/ 9 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was 14 percent below its year-ago 7.0/10 on 2/01/11. Needless to say, mindless The Bachelor remains respectable time period filler for Dancing With the Stars, which returns in March. Here is the half-hour breakdown:
The Bachelor (ABC)
8:00 p.m.: 6.0/ 9 (#1)
8:30 p.m.: 5.9/ 9 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 6.0/ 9 (#2)
9:30 p.m.: 6.1/ 9 (#1)
At 10 p.m., a repeat of Castle capped off the evening for ABC with a second-place 4.7/ 8.
In season (or series) finale news, NBC game show Who’s Still Standing? concluded with a lackluster fourth-place 3.6/ 6 at 8 p.m. Chances are there will not be a second season. Who’s Still Standing led into a repeat of Fear Factor (#4: 2.6/ 6 at 9 p.m.), which was also oddly billed as the season-ender, and soon-to-relocate Rock Center With Brian Williams (#3: 2.5/ 4 at 10 p.m.). Chances are Rock Center will not perform any better in the Wednesday 9 p.m. hour out of sitcom Are You There, Chelsea? beginning next week.
A night of all repeats on CBS were on par with typical non-original levels care of How I Met Your Mother (#3: 4.9/ 8), 2 Broke Girls (#3: 5.3/ 8), Two and a Half Men (#1: 6.5/10), Mike & Molly (#2t, 5.6/ and Hawaii Five-O (#1: 4.8/ 8).
The CW closed the night with an identical 1.4/ 2 in the overnights for cellar-dwellers Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie from 8-10 p.m. Overall, this was equal to year-ago occupants 90210 and Gossip Girl.
