Just listening to Mike Buck interview. More info from 50 Undercover's question. Peter Lenkov mentioned that James Caan said during a lunch date how much he is a huge fan of the show and would love to see Danny & Rachel back together. Lenkov has also said that James Caan's appearance on the show may end up being a recurring role.

He also mentions that Catherine may return in more than just 1 episode so her appearance in 2.16 wont be a last goodbye for Steve & Catherine. He also says there will definitely be some sexual tension between the two as well.

    Thank God that Catherine may come back.  There is definitely something there with the chemistry between Alex and Michelle Borth.

    Oooh James Caan as recurring sounds excellent. I like Catherine and wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of her. Thankfully it seems that Lori as a love interest is no longer on the cards.

    Glad that JC might make more than one appearance and nice to know I'm in good cmpany on the Danny/Rachel love :D
    Also good to hear Catherine is not gone (though I was sorta expecting that what with Combat Hospital not getting picked up). I think she and Steve have an interesting relationship, casual as it may be.

    Yes! Yes! Yes! Catherine is coming back!! and maybe more later this season news made my day I am a happy shipper Love the chemistry between Alex and Michelle. Love James Caan  but not for a 
    recurring  role  please I am not waiting for a second Joe.
