    Perfect timing.  I finally finished the first book several hours ago.  It's so exciting not to know what's going to happen!  If anybody spoils it for me, I'll turn you into a eunuch!

    Also, I watched the episode one on Blu-ray (HBO Sampler disc) several weeks ago and can't wait to watch Season 1 again.  March 6, where are you?

    While I like Vays, I don't want to be Varys! XD

    So how was the reading the book after the series for you? Think you will continue that for at least the next season or 2, or now that you've read Book I want to move onto more? I'm not sure what I would have done if I had the coice....

    I watched the series again around Christmas when xFinity/ HBO put the first season onDemand again. I am trying to wait until my BD discs arrive in March, but I swear it's hard now with all the new promo material coming out!

    Included are some shots you may not have noticed of Brienne, Melisandre, Xaro Xhoan Daxos , Maester Cressen and Margery Tyrell!  Most are nice and clear, but Brienne and the 2 birth pics of Melisandre are very blurry... sorry.

    I enjoyed the experience of reading the book afterwards.  Obviously there are many things that the book does better than the show because of the time constraints a show faces, but the show does such an amazing job with key scenes (pivotal Baelor scene for example). 

    I think I will follow this for the second season - read the book after the season is done.  But after that I'll just move on to the next book b/c I think you pointed out it gets complicated with things like having 2 seasons for one book?

    As for the BDs, god I can't wait.  Episode 1 looks and sounds fantastic.  Just the opening scene of raising the gate rocked my living room.  I can't decide if I want to keep my pre-order on Amazon of the regular version, or get the Best Buy Exclusive version with the Stark cover, or get both! (probably not the last one as that would cost $90+ lol)

    I already bought 2 sets of the BD discs... I wanna buy 2 or 3 more, but I cannot rationalize it! Not yet..... 

    One was for relatives though so I will jsut steal the bonus disc as a finder's fee and place it in my set! XD

    The covers though! I want the Stark cover badly... and frankly the Targaryen cover doe snot suck either! I considered ordering through the UK to get the limited edition picture book at Play.com too, but in the end 1 set for me and 1 for relatives was enough even with good discounts!

    Well at least you bought one for relatives.  I just want two different covers for myself! lol (Targaryen cover is nice, but Stark looks so much cooler).  I'm still going to go and pick up the pre-order bonus key chain from BB even if I don't get the BB exclusive.

    Yeah, I considered getting the UK import but only if it was cheaper.  Which bonus disc are you talking about by the way?  Is Best Buy going to have a bonus disc as well as exclusive covers?

    I got the HBO set and Amazon UK. THE Amazon UK has an exclusive bonus disc "creating the visuals" and HBO had an exclusive "creating the World of Westeros".

    MY uncle has a region free player so I planned on giving the UK version to him and keeping HBO's and his UK bonus disc for myself! XD

    I may just copy his disc and re-encode from PAL to NTSC so it plays nice with my US made BD player....

    This was really an intriguing Teaser with most characters we could hope for.

    April 1 in the US, April 2 in the UK and most of Central Europe.

    It does not list everything, but I think for most internet savvy people if the show airs in the US April 1... then it will be watched on April 1 even if it does not air in their country. XD

    My first thought was that looks liek Gold Cloaks and King's Landing. Some one on Winter-is-Coming said it was Melisandre so I went with it because I cannot really tell who it is.

    You could be right though. That would fit my King's Landing theory too....

    Both bonus discs are barely worth influencing your choice honestly. If I recall the Amazon one is 5 minutes long and the HBO one is 12 minutes long. Maybe I reversed them, but the point is for a "Bonus Disc" they are very short! XD

    Someone on another site posted a comment from an extra on set and they said they stripped Sansa in that scene... I actually expected the scene to be a bit worse honestly. However, I was a bit shocked when I first read how the scene went down though.  

    I guess in a series based on Adult Fantasy that contains children, the actors portraying those roles will have to do some very adult parts or the series will lose some of the drama and intensity in the books.

    Exactly, it will be difficult to find the right balance of staying through to the book. Of course they've already upped the age of the Stark children, but for some scenes like this one it would still be near impossible to portray what GRRM penned.

    I was also curious how they'd pull this scene off, but I'm happy with what I saw in this little piece.  I think they managed to make it look horrible, dramatic  and yes, disturbing (it should be!) without making it tasteless or being accused of child pornography.

    I'm really curious to see Sophie's acting this season, she has a lot of pretty grown-up, dramatic material to deal with, so much more challenging than what she had to do last season.

    I think they should've shown Bron instead of Sandor for the "common sellsword" line. Just saying.
