This sounds as if it could be an intersting show, but equally it sounds as if it could be a bit too dark for the CW so may not make it past the pilot stage. If it does though then it's one I would try an episode of.
It sounds like a disaster in the making. I'm not sure how much of an audience a show like this could attract it seems a bit too out there/ridiculous/frustrating?
My first thoughts were that I certainly wouldnt watch it my second and third thoughts were that someone at the CW really enjoyed those META episodes of Supernatural and thought a whole series based on it would be cool. For me META works in small doses but anythiong more than that and it becomes messy and annoying.
I think this may be way to above and beyond the CW and I doubt any other network would touch this one with barge pole. I dont see it getting picked up.
I'm so excited for this series, but honestly I think the only way it could possibly work if it's fast-paced and full of shocking twists & turns. Basically, everything Ringer didn't deliver.
I agree Hera, I had so much hope for Ringer to be good but the pilot episode just fell flat. It was far too soapy for me and storylines were just way too over the top.
If Cult takes the Vampire Diaries road witha ll the unexpected twists and turns then I can see this show going somewhere. Out of all the CW pilots this season this was the one that intrigued me the most, and it's from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's Fake Empire which is a plus. I've enjoyed every one of Josh's pilots from The O.C., Gossip Girl to Chuck and now Hart of Dixie. So I am confident that he will do this show justice as well.
The premise sounds very interesting and I am looking forward to seeing the pilot episode.
I think I'm gonna love this! I do wish there were not a character named "Grimm." One Grimm is enough. If the actors and writers and everyone else is up to this project, it could be very, very interesting. Anyway, I will be watching the pilot.
Well at least the network is taking a risk away from its usual shows, not sure if it will work at all but damn I have to say I would be interested in watching the pilot at least.
I can appreciate the risk that that is being taken here, but wondering if this a "biting off more than they can chew" situation with almost too much stuff going on... wait and see
It will be interesting to see if this show gets picked up. It would definitely be a gamble. If it does, I will try it out but if it ends up being a mockumentary style I won't watch much.
That was my third thought too. I'm not usually into meta for meta's sake. However, if it does get picked up then it means that the CW is willing to think outside the box in an attempt to get at least one hit. Beware though if it actually works. Everything will be meta by the next season.
I think you've answered my question. I was wondering how the CW got involved with this pilot pitch. The fact that it has OC, GG, and HoD in the mix explains a lot. The CW loves to keep its people in the family.
I was thinking it could work with Supernatural too but I doubt the CW puts a new show on Friday night. I think we need to be resigned for whatever show joins SPN on Fridays to be its polar opposite.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Sounds like a very large undertaking and it could crash and burn on so many levels! That said, if they find the right balance it could be awesome too!
ReplyDeleteI will check it out, but I do not have high hopes...

ReplyDeleteit sounds intriguing but it all depends on who they cast for me.. It's worth checking out..

ReplyDeleteConsider me officially interested.
ReplyDelete(and also it might be a good fit as a Supernatural companion show...)

ReplyDeleteIf they get this right, it could be fantastic. I'm certainly intrigued by it.
