OH GOD. PLEASE TO STILL BE ALIVE, BOBBY.
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin the "dangerously obsessed with killing Dick Roman part". Does that mean he'll be in this episode?
ReplyDeleteNot even going to mention the Bobby part.
Well they will be keeping Bobby's fate a secret until the next episode.
ReplyDeleteAt last some Supernatural news. This sounds great and I can't wait till January 6th - I don't even care about Christmas - I just want Supernatural back.
ReplyDeletebobbyyyyyyy...... waaaaa.... but i am curious about sam helping this girl! especially seeing how sam was i think being bitten by something... a vampire?... from the looks of the promo.... omg i need time to move faster... christmas then supernatural can't come fast enough!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds intersting... But it sounds to me like Sam and Dean are going to be splitting up. X| I don't like it when they do that.
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me! Except for the "death" of Bobby :( He was my favorite! I wonder if there will be a reference to Thor in this episode Hmmmmm.... :)
ReplyDeletethe things this show does to my emotions!!
ReplyDeleteCurious! I remember taking screenshots of the trailer and it looked like Sam was being attacked by some kind of feline-looking monster, so this should be awesome. I'm worried about Dean, though. Doesn't he remember what it was like when Sam became obsessed with hunting down Lilith? Does this mean that Bobby could truly be dead? Maybe he's just in a coma? Idk. I'm still holding out hope for him! Anyway, can't wait for the hiatus to be over!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be nice to see some Dick Roman. What can I say, I like the guy.
ReplyDeleteDean is obsessed over bla bla bla... while Sam tried to help a bla bla bla...
ReplyDeletedidn't we go through this before and before and before? -_-;
"What happened to Bobby"
ReplyDeleteDamn, they're good.
Hey, that's Ruby from Once Upon a Time. Awesome! I actually find dangerously obsessed and helping a teenage girl to be preferable to endless despair and constant moping so this episode gives me hope. I still wish Bobby would live but I will take intense, action-oriented Winchesters any day.
ReplyDeleteHa! I wonder if the girl will be looking for her roller skates and if a magazine will be a significant prop.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the SpoilerTV Supernatural community. Thanks for sharing your opinions with us. Now I'm going to have to rewatch the promo to see if I can figure what's going on.
ReplyDelete;-; Please Bobby don't die.....I'm still keeping hope that he'll 'just' be in a coma for a while 'til the boys found a way to save him later in the season
ReplyDeleteWait. It sounds like Sam and Dean split up. That sounds massively ill advised.
ReplyDeleteTrue that, I'll take action over moping any day, too .. But,
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to make of this synopsis w/r/t Sam and
Dean's behaviors (I'm not debating whether Bobby is dead or just severely
wounded/comatose at this time).
Is the show saying bluntly that seeking vengeance is never a good
thing or only acceptable when Dean does what his Dad and Sam did before him? To
me the show has an unfortunate tendency to paint even Dean's negative behaviors
in a far more positive light than they ever did for Sam. Understand I’m not in
any way bashing Dean.
Is the show saying Sam is taking what happened to Bobby less
personally, grieving less than Dean, or is Sam acting like he does when he's
very upset and involving himself in a case to take his mind off it, which is
"mentally healthier" approach to the grieving process than seeking
vengeance. Is Sam that mentally healthy or is just the last facade before the
"cookie crumbles"?
I like Ian Tracey in everything I've seen him in so far and
I thought that the original information had "Sally" the "Working
Girl" seeking Sam's help.
I don't see anything in this press release
addressing Sam's "Cage memories" - I again fear Sam will get no more
than one episode like "Unforgiven" - if that - to more deeply delve
into his Hell experience. It would be so nice to see Sam begin to show visible
cracks in his psyche in this episode - just a few moments would do for now
Me too I want to see Sam dealing with Hell, maybe we'll have something, last episode was the first time in a long time that Sam froze for a second, in the hospital. I'm guessing/hoping that if the episode doesn't start like couple of weeks/months later, we'll see Sam having trouble. Its not cause its not written in the press release that it mean for absolutely sure Sam doesn't care, its more in Dean's personnality to storm out and spin out of control when he can't deal with his emotion while Sam just keep it quiet or leave to cool off...we'll have to wait and see.....
ReplyDeleteI'll hope with you, I want to see those things you want to^^;
Me too, I hate it when they split up... but it probably gives them time off... but I WANT THEM TOGETHER!!!
ReplyDelete"..After what happened to Bobby.."
ReplyDeleteCare to share with the rest of the class?!?In any case,"dangerously obsessed" works for me! ; )
I'm worried about this too. I hope they won't choose the lazy way and make Sam the one who doesn't give a crap again. From the trailer and the synopsis, it looks as though he's the one who's going to be put in danger because he chooses to go on this random hunt rather than go with Dean seeking revenge.
ReplyDeleteI just hope I'm wrong, but the way Sam's been written since the end of season 4, I'm not very optimistic.
It's just not right for them to be separate...something bad happens when they're apart, even worse usually than the bad stuff that happens when they're together. And they've tried time and again to get away from each other and it never works anyhow. heh. They're a team, partners, they have to have each other's backs!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree - in Death's Door we had more hints that Sam was more deeply affected by what happened to Bobby than he allowed Dean to see because it's Sam's nature to support Dean when he's grieving but Sam, quite like Dean, can't always stop his sibling from going down potentially self-destructive paths. As Bobby told Castiel in Mommy Dearest "You don't stop Sam and Dean Winchester from doing anything ... they do what needs to be done".
ReplyDeleteDean obviously feels that "what needs to be done" is hunting down Dick Roman and Sam may feel that they don't know how to stop/kill the Boss Levi yet, so they have to plan their attack, sort of like Dean felt in TMATEOB that they weren't ready to face Lilith yet.
thanks so much! this hiatus is killing me, and we even got to hang on longer to Supernatural than a lot of other shows.. COME BACK!
ReplyDeleteVery cleverly stated. The description allows enough wiggle room to interpret "What happened to Bobby" to mean Bobby went with the Reaper (died), to Bobby's in a coma, to Bobby survived the surgery, awakened, but has memory loss. In any of these, "Bobby" need not be present in the next group of episodes.
ReplyDeleteI'm a tiny bit nervous, too, that the show will disregard all the signs that showed Sam cared deeply about what happened to Bobby - the scene where Sam is holding Bobby's hand is "waterworks time" for me - and take the lazy way as you said and suggest that Sam cares more about taking this "random job" than he does about Bobby.
ReplyDeleteAnd THAT goes completely against the "Winchester Family Business" of "saving people, hunting things" - or it vice versa? - over seeking revenge. So I'm a little worried, like you, that Sam will once again be doing the "wrong thing" (helping the teenager) for the right reasons, and endangering himself, while Dean *possibly* gets a "hall pass" for doing the same thing he criticized his Dad and Sam for doing.
so much suspense! D:
ReplyDeleteBUT WHAT HAPPENED TO BOBBY?!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who doesn't like the sound of 'dangerously obsessed'? I mean, I want them to gank that Dick as much as the next guy, but it sounds like Dean might start doing evil, not-Dean-like things...
Nicely vague about Bobby I notice!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Bobby I'm guessing will bring Deans issues to a roaring head with this obssesion to take down Dick. As Episode 13 is suppose to wrap up this "rocker journey" of his Edlund spoke of ,which can't end soon enough for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think Sam's doing as well as he's led everyone to believe, including himself. Seriously how could he be? I mean 180 years of Hell memories just flooded back into his head thanks to Castiel and he's dealing with hallucinations of Lucifer being a part of his life now.. But instead he's thinking of Dean and being what Dean needs him to be now, Which really is a kind of a$$ backwards storyline.and just maybe what happened to Bobby will shake things up alot at first with both guys but eventually will set things right for them. I'm looking forward to what Jensen said would happen in a video interview he and Jared gave earlier in this season, that Sam and Dean will reach a point where they say to heck with the monsters and put taking care of each other first
Now that sounds like them getting their priorities straight and being on the same page and something I really want to see happen. And long over due.
I guess that this confirms what we thought about Bobby and the boys separating is never good. I'm not 100% sure of this because I think that the director is relatively new and I'm not fond of Adam Glass' screenplays
ReplyDeleteThanks for that little tid bit at the end that sounds like exactly what I've been calling for since the last season-Sam and Dean puttting Sam and Dean first but still hunting things and saving people, they need to stop letting everyone and everything walk all over them, stop being victims of circumstance. If they arent happy with their lives then its time to change them.
ReplyDeleteI also agreeabout this season being ass backwards. If Sam doesnt break now then I see no reason for him to at all. What he's been doing so far to keep himself from being backshit insane has been working so far, I dont see what could change that especially if Bobby dying? doesnt. It will just come across as contrived, some stupid plot device to get Sam out of the way at the end of the season. If they want to take Dean off the rails thats fine (hopefully the 13 episode arc end with episode 13) but that doesnt mean Sam cant be an actual character with feelings and that doesnt mean he cant hunt things, save people and kick some serious ass. He shouldnt just be treated as a plot device.
this is Dean you're talking about, the writers dont like to taint his character or make him unsympathetic to the audience at all.
ReplyDeleteIt kind of sounds like Dean is finally having his John and Sam moment-revenge/obsession when a love one is killed or may have been in Bobby's case? Sam knows what its like to be dangerously obssessed this is Sam and Lillith all over again except now its Dean and Dick.
ReplyDeleteThey've been doing that alot this season so no suprises
ReplyDeletetis the nature of the show
ReplyDeleteI like the guy too, I hope they keep him around at last till the end of the season, however he needs to be more menacing, the writers need to up the stakes even more so than they have.
ReplyDeleteJust like when Sam become dangerously obssed with killing Lillith, Or when John was about YED? Interesting how all 3 of them keep finding themselves to be variations of the exact same people, I guess the apples really dont fall far from the tree?
ReplyDeleteI wonder how each bro will feel now that they're essentially in the others shoes?
BOBBYS NOT DEAD HES JUST SLEEPING RIGHT?
ReplyDeleteFAMILY, dang it, the show is about FAMILY..I want them together, safer that way. lol
ReplyDeleteI think it's absolutely logical that Dean, once his grief over Bobby has calmed a little, would want to take out Dick, and would become obsessive about it, and I don't think it's rehashing anything.
ReplyDeleteI also think that Sam would be every bit as anxious as Dean to get his revenge on Dick.
However, the two brothers have always been portrayed as being two parts of a whole, one complimentary to the other.
When Sam was in obsessed mode Dean was doing the opposite, trying to calm him, and so it's logical that if it's Dean who goes into obsessed mode, Sam would try to contrast that and cool him down in some way
Each story -line is different from the other anyway--John/Mary---Sam/Jess/Lilith---Dean/Bobby.
I, too, feel that Sam's hell experiences will jump up and bite him again, as I think there is stilll a lot there to explore.
One of the things must be Adam's fate.
Sam has never mentioned him but he must know something, and it seems strange that Dean has never asked Sam about him.
It's not that I'm a great fan of Adam but I think there should be some sort of closure there, plus I'm curious for more information.
It would be funny if it was Adam who eventually ended up being the big bad, after all don't humans end up demons after so many years in hell! (maybe in season 8 !)
I am not a fan of Glass at all, I havent liked a single episode he has written for the show as far as I can remember.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same...I haven't liked the "newbie's" scripts even if they just provided the idea and didn't actually write it.
ReplyDeleteYES!! I totally agree with you about Sam. I have a nasty feeling that they are going to bring back his hell storyline towards the end of the season just to "give" him some storyline. I would like him to be the strong one right now and take care of Dean for a change and to have gotten over the whole hell thing. I mean IF it was really very influential then the writers should have addressed it again beyond the first few episodes and the vague remarks about it. BESIDES the dude deserves a break!!
ReplyDeleteIm not surprised that Dean is gonna be obsessed with killing Dick. He has that type of personality, much like his father. He lost it for awhile after his father died too, but I think Bobby will hurt more. Seems he was much more of a father than John ever was. I truly hope Bobby will not be dead forever. Sam and Dean need him....and so do I :(
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I feel about the description "dangerously obsessed." If they're talking about a need for violent retaliation, that sounds like Dean, but if they're talking a slow-burn, long-term obsession, that's Sam. While it's interesting the characters are going to new places this season, I hope the writers didn't decide it would be fun to switch Dean and Sam's personalities this season. But I'm probably reading too much into a short description written by someone who probably doesn't even watch the show (judging by some other descriptions that have come out).
ReplyDeleteTo be true to their characters, Sam would be seeking a lot of control right now, especially considering he's dealing with his Lucifer hallucinations. For a female, this need for obsessive control might manifest itself as anorexia; with Sam, probably in research and developing an intricate plot to trap the Leviathan. Saving a girl is something he would feel more in control over, so it makes sense that he would focus on that for now. It also makes sense that Sam wouldn't be as quick to jump to revenge as he would have been in previous seasons. Sam has learned a hard lesson on what revenge gets you. Dean is very much about family, so the loss of a father figure would hit him hard. I could see Dean reacting in reckless violent outbursts.
I agree and it's very weird that Sam hasn't even mentioned Adam once, during this season or last. Dean has only spoke of Adam once, to Death in Appt in Samarra. It *could be* only the writers forgetting about Adam again, but Castiel made a point in telling Crowley in MTNB that "they had to keep 'Michael' in Lucifer's Cage".
ReplyDeleteVery early this season I think Sera G mentioned we would (or might) see "Adam" again, but both she and EK over the seasons have said lots of things that didn't pan out for various reasons. I think it's a *great idea* having "Adam" as the BB of S8 from centuries in the cage, furious that once Dean "rescued Sam's Soul" the boys didn't make an attempt to get "his soul" out of the Cage.
me too!! can we skip Christmas and go forward to January 6th like...NOW?
ReplyDelete"Still reeling after what happened to Bobby " --> well, yeah, thanks but... ehm... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BOBBY?? =/"Dean becomes dangerously obsessed" --> dangerously?? ok, now I'm worried. I mean, it's not like dean have never seeked -and killed for - revenge before (YED anyone?) but dangerously? never. it was more the "john and sam" kind of things I guess... or does it run in blood? anyhow, I don't like the sound of it..."over finding a way to take down Dick Roman " --> now that would be a good thing...
ReplyDelete"Meanwhile Sam" --> what?? what do you mean by "meanwjile sam"?? They didn't split up, did they? DID THEY?? D=
"decides to help a teenage girl" --> damn it, they did split up then... ooooh come on boys!!! this has never been a good idea! But I have to admit this is a healthier way to grieve than being dangerously obsessed... go Sam!
"look for her father, a hunter who has gone missing"--> this sounds promising/interesting....
"Sam traces his last steps to a truck stop where the help turns out not to be so friendly"--> I said it, I SAID IT! damn it, you two, you had not to split up!
"Jeannot Szwarc directed the episode written by Adam Glass" --> uhm...I'm not so fond of Adam Glass' episodes =/ I hope it turns out to be good!
I must say, I like everything I'm reading here.
ReplyDelete- If Dean is going to go off the rails, I would much prefer that he go all Charles Bronson in Death Wish instead of reverting to the emotionally destructive behavior he's been displaying this season. This is a positive change (entertainment-wise).
- Sam as sort of a "supernatural P.I." seems like a fun idea. It's definitely different. My question is, "Why is Meghan Ory's character unfriendly?" Truck stop hookers can't afford to be unfriendly. That's bad for business.
I just hope Dean doesn't get himself into something he can't get out of by doing his Rambo thing on Dick Roman.
I don't want Bobby to die either. Love the boys and Bobby, too! I think he will be ok. Just another true test for Sam and Dean. Cannot wait for the new episodes to start again!
ReplyDeleteYou're right they have. It just seems odd to me that in the wake of "what happened to Bobby" that they'd split up. Or, maybe, more accurately, that Sam would leave Dean alone. I didn't expect Sam to take care of someone else before taking care of Dean...even it Dean refuses to be taken care of.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Dean left Sam alone? He's the one who's dangerously obsessed, and they are both vunerable now. Let's not forget that both Sam AND Dean have made suicide references this season.
ReplyDeleteNothing conclusive about Bobby - the wait is so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteExcellent point.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I sometimes think that's why the writers haven't mentioned Adam, maybe they're trying to make us forget about him so as to hit us with a big surprise somewhere along the line.
ReplyDeleteAs you say, Dean did chose Sam in App.in Samarra and although that choice couldn't have been otherwise, Adam might be a "little annoyed" to have suffered alll those extra years without the boys ever trying to get him out!
In any case, Adam is a character they could still explore and exploit in some way.
So who knows. :-)
I really hope Bobby isn't gonna be killed off !
ReplyDeleteon the official magazine a few issues back it advertised "Bobby's journal" in which he is losing his memory.
ReplyDeleteSo I also hope that he isn't dead.
Or the time travel theory, could also be possible.
If he does die, i suggest writing an angry letter to sera if he doesn't come back by the end of the season. Castiel aswell! >.<
bobby is gone for sure but in the supernatural world he will show back up sooner or later or if Cas comes back as an angel he schould be able to bring bobby back for good. I Guess will see
ReplyDelete
