  1. um as i suspected it was cheesy... Mercedes opening number was good.  I couldn't deal with the black and white special.  However, it was nice to see everyone show up to the shelter.

  2. That was terrible. Boring and the TV special was cringeworthy.

  3. Agreed on the tv special. i wont say it was terrible but i will agree it was bad.  Must be b/c Mathew Morrison directed the episode.

  4. Glee reached a new low...Finchel was my favorite, now wtf Finn? How egotistical can you get!! I feel for Santana...and her invisible girlfriend....She was my second favorite character!! This show's ratings will plummet and for good reason...terrible/inconsistent writing and story lines. Too bad, I used to love this show.

  5. Writing, editing and directing was all bad. The cast is way to good for this show this season. Just so so bland.

  6. I'm too sensitive to vote for Awful, so I settled for Poor, for the first time since I started visiting SpoilerTV.

This episode was the first Glee episode where I seriously felt bored. The Christmas special was an interesting idea, but they should've used it for maybe five minutes, instead of half an hour. The cheesiness and intended awkwardness stopped being funny after the second song. I also wish it wasn't Sue that was behind the shelter idea. Just like last season, she acted OUT OF CHARACTER. So frustrating. I hope that next year they will actually show a little more sensitivity and shed a little bit of light on other religions. Rachel and Puck did not make even one mention of Hanukkah, except for a barely-heard line delivered in the last five seconds of the episodes. Speaking of Rachel, SHE'S A FREAKING VEGAN! She does not support raising animals only for people to kill and eat them, especially since she's Jewish and clearly keeps kosher. UGH.I sat down to watch it without any expectations, and I'm thankful for it, because this episode bombed. Not Matthew Morrison's fault, though. He tried.

  7. this episode had  NO plot, other than a wishy-washing watered down cheesy christmas sentiment. im not saying that we shouldnt ge generous at christmas, just that there needed to be more story than a greeting card could supply. it was over done and a bit boring and repetitive, despite the music being alright.

  8. I almost felt bad about hating this show so much, especially since it was a holiday episode, but I can see that an overwhelming majority agrees with my opinion.  It was terrible.

I have never watched an hour-long drama (or dramady) with as little of a plot as this episode of Glee.  There was almost no story at all.  There was barely enough dialogue to tie the musical numbers together.  What a waste.

  9. I think to vote awful..I would have to not be able to finish it...I ended up with OK, mainly because I felt bad

  10. Just boring...I dont get the humor behind the black and white special. I mean its for another type of viewer, right? like for those who are 30+ or smth.

  11. I honestly couldn't bring myself to watch it, then I read the comments, now I can't think of any reason to.

  12. Very boring. The plot was awful. Also, I was pretty upset that Santana didn't sing Santa Baby (I think it was cut or something?). Very disappointed in this episode. The whole "TV special" thing was boring and unnecessarry. I don't know what the writers were thinking when they were writing this episode.

  13. What is your problem, guys? The episode was FUN. That's what christmas is about. It wasn't the best episode but it truly caught the spirit of christmas in my opinion. I was dissappointed that Christmas Eve With You and Santa Baby weren't in the episode, but apart from that, it was GREAT.

  14. I thought it was fun ... I mean its a Christmas special in and of itself.  I don't think it was intended to move the plot along or fit in with the rest of the regular season story.  Kind of like the Star Wars Christmas special was back in the day - speaking of which - when they first ran that, everyone hated it.  Now it's super popular - go figure.

  16. thank you OMG! ahah. It was no plot, and SUPER FUN

  17. I'm starting to really hate this show. What is wrong with Brittany why is she no longer have any thing to say ? Except for Christmas Wrapping she has not said or done nothing in 5 episodes. Can they screw her character over even more? The new writers just don't write anything for her and all they seem to care about is Santana interacting with everyone else.

  18. Haha :D I loved it, too, and I'm 14 :D And btw, I think the plot was okay. It wasn't something that's good for the continuty, but I think it was fun

  19. well maybe you weren't on the good side of tumblr but on TLC and where I was on tumblr, everybody except the Klainers hated it. Brainless glee could be good during season 2 but there it's just really really bad, and those new writers are killing the show. I wish RIB would come back...

  20. ah yes, this.  Brittany is now more of a mute than Tina and Santana is the straightest lesbian I've ever seen. She has more interaction with Finn and Rachel than her girlfriend. They haven't talk to each other since episode 4 and we're already on the 9th episode. Those double standards are blatant. they wouldn't had been able to do it with Finchel or Klaine. It disgust me.

  21. It was OK. The Christmas special thing was kinda' boring, songs went on for too long and the dialogue too. But I still kind of enjoyed it anyway.
I'm super bummed that they cut out Santa Baby. Santana could've made this episode a lot more interesting.

  22. I'm clearly in the minority here, but I adored the GLEE Christmas episode. Loved the 40s costumes, the Blaine/Kurt duet (including the dance), the remake of "Do They Know It's Christmas," Artie behaving like any pushy snip of a director, and Rachel finally coming to some understanding that it's not all about the bling. All in all, a lovely episode. I don't know why so many people are down on it--unless it's that it's become "cool" to trash GLEE.

  23. Imagine any local-access Christmas special put on by a bunch of glee club kids for $895. That's the show you get--if you're lucky enough to have really talented kids.

  24. Finally some positive comments :D I thought it was funny. it was like a break from the story. the tv special part was a little bit too long but some parts were really funny. And congratulations to Damian :))

  25. Santana and Brittany aren't even a couple yet. The past few episodes focused on Santana's developement and coming out. They just started dating in a scene in Episode 2 I guess. Yes, Santana loves Brittany, but they are not officially a couple.

  26. Trust me, I hate hating on the show. I think the trashing comes from a place where Season 1 was such a refreshing show, with great story lines, great lines, great song choices.. Then Season 2 and 3 came, and the magic was suddenly gone. Trust me, I wish before every episode that it will be like the first 12 episodes. But in all honesty, the show doesn't make sense, the characters act, well.. out of character, story lines are pointless, song choices are extreme (only Broadway or only recently popular songs), or in this case, a promotion for their Christmas album.

  27. I loved Rory's increased presence in the episode and Kurt / Blaine duo. OTOH, Rachel behaved selfishly and Artie was unacceptably rude and insensitive

    ReplyDelete
  28. AHHA well I do follow only Klainers so you most be right haha.
I dont get it though every body is hating on season 2 but you guys want RIB back???... s2 was rib and seems like they messed it up. ~ though imo I loved it and loved s3.

The only thing I hate about last night was rachel. seriously she is JEWISH for christ sakes -_-

    ReplyDelete
  29. oh and we dont know how it works in the writers room. maybe the new writers are given a storyline and they just write it, and im pretty sure RIB have to aprove everything.

    ReplyDelete
  30. aw I feel a bit better now ahah.
Though I've always like episode that kinda step aside of the plotline of the show too make an episode more "special" and it always seems to get the wrong reaction form fans.

  31. Yes they are a couple, the writers and cast confirmed it.

  32. I need to cyber hug every one who liked that episode... which sadly wont take long O.O

    ReplyDelete
  33. i just don't understand the hate either. I loved all of it pretty much.

  34. I came on here ready to vote poor and felt guilty. Now that I've read all your comments, I'm not alone. I just watched Season 1, episode 1 over and wow did this show get sloppy since then. The reason I fell in love with Glee has diminished. They are all over with the stories, and that black & white crap? I just got up and walked away. This episode for an Xmas special was Scrooge!

    ReplyDelete
  35. very cheesy, and I felt like it was a giant advertisement for the CD.. disappointed with Matt Morrison's first attempt

    ReplyDelete
  36. though I realize the writing wasn't his fault

  37. HEY HOMELESS CHILDREN,

LET ME SING YOU A SONG ABOUT STARVING CHILDREN ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD.

    Thanks

    P.S. We're uber sensitive...

  38. The only postive thing about the episode in my opinion is that the others have more singing time.

And i just don't understand what they are doing with sue's character!? They should just write her off...
