But I loved Awkward!Hotch. And he's not a widower - He and Haley were divorced. That bothered me that the team said he was widowed. But aww at him dating again!
Hotch and Beth's meeting was so unnatural (they didn't even ask each others' names), and the way Rossi was pushing Hotch... it all felt so forced. What's this agenda the writers are pushing?
Beth seems desperate/stalkerish. Hotch appeared dumb-downed. Case was mediocre...wait... what was it about again? Prentiss apparently lost her voice ... I mean she barely spoke in this episode. Garcia was probably the only highlight of tonight... plus Prentiss' hair was pure hairporn! I give this episode a 1 out of 5, solely for Prentiss's hairporn and Garcia's personality. Everthing else was dreadful.
Everything bothered me. I miss S4 of CM. Best season. There was the interrogation room, and the cases were mindblowing. Plus, the team dynamics were better. IMO
I know! She pulls out a card she just happens to be carrying with her. And Hotch suddenly letting his guard down and "flirting" with her. The writers are trying to make Hotch happy ... they seem to have forgotten about the fans. I mean, what makes CASTLE, NCIS, and BONES so popular is the sexual tension between integral characters ... not some random guest star and a leader character. CM is trying to infuse romance to entice fans and well frankly, it's a big turn off. I think it's time I start watching CASTLE, at least they're doing the romance factor right.
Glad to know I am not the only one that feels that way. I think this has been by far the worst season of CM yet because of them trying to play up the team and their personal lives.
I'm almost at the point of quitting watching it regularly.. If they don't have a great case and unsub soon I just might.
I DON'T LIKE THEM AT ALL.. SHE IS ANNOYING INSTEAD........DID YOU NOTICE HOW HOTCH AND JJ EXCHANGED THAT LOOK ON THE PLANE???? THIS IS NATURAL...AND THIS IS TRUE FEELING....PLS.......EXPLORE THEIR BOND...EXPLORE THEIR RELATIONSHIP...IT IS REALLY REALLY REALLY WORTH
I thought the son dying was heartbreaking. Other than that touching scene, the episode was okay. Garcia's always been my favourite, so her scenes were great, but the rest was just okay. Beth was a little bit creepy...I don't run, but do most people run and carry their cards around?
I took that as a case of a man who legally divorced but not emotionally divorced. So it didn't really bother me.
As for the dating...I just could NOT trust it. Maybe I'm too societally brainwashed to accept that a woman who approaches a man she wants to meet is doing so simply because she's attracted to him. But I just kept thinking....'this is a setup. this isn't going to end well.'
I think this was, for me, the most obnoxious push on the personal story idea front. The first couple of eps were more subtle...keeping it to mostly the kind of stuff co-workers do after work. Then we got to Rossi's ex dying. ugh.
My vote for worst attempt at playing up the regular's personal lives on a procedural still goes to Cold Case, though.
Writers are trying to push an agenda? Oh yes they do, their agenda? Let makes this guy who was dump by his wife who btw cheated on him before dumping him then said same woman was murdered and the poor ex-husband was forced to listen to her being murdered on his phone, make him happy by meeting a woman who seems interested in him. What an awful agenda those writers do have! Oh I forgot Hotch should have flirted with JJ, who nevermind does have a boyfriend! Or Prentiss, let's not bother with small details that would contradict what the characters are all about, like integrity, following the rules ( unless a team members life was in danger). No let's portrait Hotch as an OOC boss who would of course sleep with a subordinate because hey him and Emily would make such a niiiiice couple! All this sound like bad fanfiction!
Anyway, case was interesting but nothing special except for the ending, sad moment when the little boy died. Hotch show some compassion to the boy, his dad and mother by making sure the dad would be with his son when the boy passed away.
Love that Rossi was supportive of Hotch getting with Beth, maybe this will not amount to anything between Hotch and Beth but Hotch had to take the first step which was to let go of Haley, of the past.
As for this season, I like it, not the best, much better than last season! I'm happy we are getting to know the characters more but if there is one thing I hope will change is we need more of the team working together and doing some profiling.
I was really unimpressed with this episodes. The case was boring, the unsub was boring and if I have to sit through yet another boxing episode in any of my TV shows I will just stop watching TV altogether lol. The only thing good about this episode was the scene with Garcia running her mouth and getting caught. Beth.... well the actress was good, the character seems ok, but that first meeting felt really forced. I was confused as to what exactly was going on. I don't think that Hotch and Prentiss having feelings for each other would be OOC for them. They are both adults, both single, working long hours together and feelings could develop under those circumstances. Now, what exactly would they do about it, that's what could become OOC. But I would much rather watch them trying to figure that out because they are two characters I'm invested in. They are the characters I tune in to watch. So, yes, I would much rather watch how exactly they would deal with realizing they have an interest in each other than to watch a random, new character I really don't care about who just takes away screentime from the ones I do lol.
And I do like that we are getting to know the characters better. Yes it's about the cases but unsubs come and go and if I don't care about the characters then I go just as easily too.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Well, that was depressing.

For me
it
is
time

This ep just didn't really do it for me. I just never really got into it. I don't know why. Just gave it an OK.

Things I did like in that episode; Hotch and Beth. Glad the writers are not playing it safe a la NCIS, Bones, Castle and going with the old, tired cliché of sexual tension between characters. What is wrong with a woman approaching a man she find interesting/attractive? Its okay for men to do it but not for women? Come on we are in 2011 not 1811!

The whole Hotch and Beth, thing was so contrived!
