The Firm - Two trailers

NBC released two new trailers for their upcoming drama series, The Firm, starting with a 2-hour première on Sunday, January 8, 2012 before moving to its regular timeslot on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10/9c :

I for one am very interested in this show, it has ingredients I'm usually fond of : a serialized story, a conspiracy and paranoia all around, backed with a great cast (Tricia Helfer, Callum Keith Rennie, Molly Parker and Josh Lucas, that's not bad at all). Let's hope this show will prove that NBC is making the right call in continuing to produce ambitious dramas after the (undeserved) flop of The Event. I haven't seen the movie this show is based upon yet but I will before the show begins (I hope Tom Cruise runs a lot in it !). And one other thing that's great is, like 30 Rock season 6, The Firm has a 22-episode order so we will have no breaks and no reruns until the end in May !

This could very well be the first new NBC show I'm really hooked on this season :

- The Playboy Club, as ambitious as it might have been, was clumsy and ended as quickly as it started.
- Prime Suspect was good but it didn't have something special to make it a must-see and more than just a copshow.
- Grimm is not very compelling so far, plus the main actor reminds me of Brandon Routh (that's not a compliment).

Regarding comedies, Shitney is as bad as my boyfriend's breath in the morning, am I right ladies? *insert irritating laugh track and applauses*, while Up All Night is a decent comedy with great leads but nowhere near the fantastic four (Community, Parks and Rec, The Office and 30 Rock).

Wouldn't it have been amazing if Community had landed at 9:30pm on Thursdays instead of getting benched until March 2012 ? It would have been one hell of a lineup from 8 to 11 : 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, The Office, Community and The Firm. Yeah, that would have been swell. I'll still be watching all 5 fives shows broadcasted by NBC on Thursdays but Up All Night is definitely inferior to Community on every aspect.
