    Not easy being an Avs fan these days. Became interested in NHL hockey when they moved the franchise from Quebec to Denver and became a fan because of players like Sakic, Forsberg and Roy.
    The battles with Detroit back in those days were legendary, great hockey, great rivalry.

    That was one of the all-time great NHL rivalries.  There isn't a rivalry in professional hockey that comes close to it since.  Besides the Stanley Cup finals, a Wings / Avs game was the only time you'd ever see hockey leading-off Sportscenter.  A Wings / Avs game was a must-see event.  I miss those days.
