The best episode since Ducky Tie for me, all five characters were hilarious, even Marshall, plus a shock ending to boot. I accidentally saw all the "WHAT?" comments before getting to the end, so I had time to speculate so it wasn't as big a surprise as it should have been.
Hopefully there isn't too much who's the daddy drama, taking us into soapland, and I'm not sure how two babies are going to work on the show next season, I don't see HIMYM going down the miscarriage/abortion route. Unless of course it's a false alarm (around 60% chance of happening).
Poor Ted, everything he wants flaunted in front of him on a daily basis. Nice to see James' husband, I love how good the show is at getting guest stars (James etc,) to come back even for small scenes.
Wow, really nicely done! Barney and Ted would've been fun parents (and heck, they'd be a cute couple too)--but that last scene was wowsers. I understand about a woman's right to choose and all, but I'd hate to see her terminate or even somehow lose the baby. I wonder what she'll tell Kevin, who is, after all, a truly nice guy.
WOW I didn't see that one coming.. shocking ending aside, I thought it was a great episode! I was happy with all five characters this week - I may finally get over weird stoner-Marshall and Ted
it was a nice episode (with all the guys going completely crazy!) and then at the last second it became "OMG! You need to stop doing this I'm going to have an heart attack!!" Awesome episode
There's a good chance that Kevin was spending Thanksgiving with his family rather than his new girlfriend and her friends, since it many people consider it a family holiday.
Very disappointed in the Ted and Barney part of the episode--didn't find the bro-parents concept funny and was kind of embarassed while watching it. Marshall, Lily, and Robin was good stuff, especially the tiny apartment visual (like Marshall unable to get out of a room he got into) and the ending was a shocker.
sigh...its so obvious, Robin and Barney have become Rachel and Ross from Friends. eg. Robin/Rachel unexpectedly falls pregnant and then there will be some spectulation over who the father is (Barney or Kevin) and then they (Robin and Barney) will try and live normally without having a relationship, however end up having an on-off relationship (like Ross and Rachel) and eventually Robin will move cities or something and Barney will chase after her and they will get marride and meet Ted's wife. In just enough time to go the the end of season eight, which they are contracted to. BOOM! lawyered
I wondered that too, but I figured his presence in the house would take away from the shock of that final scene, dilute it somehow. It's a purely Barney-and-Robin moment; Kevin in the next room would add an element that would detract from the center action.
I enjoyed this episode, but can someone please help me with an earlier episode:
Like with "Last Cigarette Ever", it is revealed that Marshall stops smoking when his son is born. Then there was the episode this year when Marshall and Lily don't want to know the sex of the baby. (Even though we already know)
So with this episode revealing Robin is pregnant, was there not an episode in the 1st or 2nd season that Ted in voiceover states "Robin never had kids, but she became a great aunt to you two..." or something like that? It might just be that he was stating that Robin isn't the mother, but I need to find the episode to be sure...
Season 2 Episode 4 - Little Boys and I quote from the plot summary - "Robin claims she is done with kids but Future Ted narrates that she would eventually make her peace with kids and go on to appear in some important works of art – pictures drawn by his kids of themselves with "Aunt Robin".
Right so it doesn't really state that "makes her peace with kids" means she could have a kid, but at the same time judging by the kids drawings, why would "Aunt Robin" leave her kid at home to then take Ted's kids to the zoo or the beach...? haha
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
WHAT?
ReplyDeletedid not see that comming at all

ReplyDeleteI really did not see that coming, but I'm very happy and curious too, especially after the lastest spoiler.

I think no one did
ReplyDeleteBarney and Ted would be good co-parents--and probably a good couple too, now I think of it. Incredible announcement from Robin at the end--wow.
ReplyDeleteI literally bawled OH MAH GAWD at the screen, beer spurted everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI still don't know how to feel about this.
I did.
ReplyDeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteDid not see that one coming either!!!!!!!!!
And now we have to wait for next week to see Barney´s reaction.
ReplyDeleteNope, until December. There's no new episode next week.
ReplyDeleteThere's another episode left in December.

ReplyDeleteWhat if Barney isn't the father? Kevin also could be the father.
ReplyDeleteKept thinking that Barney was babysitting for his brother but then I kept thinking....that kid would be too old. :-)
ReplyDeleteRobin's bombshell was a shocker. Awesome. I have a feeling that things are gonna get funner from here on out.

ReplyDeleteAwesome episode
OMG!!! Please let it be Barney's baby!!! Robin & Barney <3
ReplyDeleteI wonder why Kevin wasn't at the dinner (James & family was)? I mean not even just a pop by. No one even mentioned it at all.
ReplyDeleteRobin is so not having a baby...

ReplyDeleteagree with this
ReplyDeleteI concur
ReplyDeleteI thought Kevin had broken up with her.
