Still really enjoying this season, and I'm hoping that the twist with Gellar is that there isn't a twist and that he actually is there. Also really hoping for Deb to find out about Dex so she understands what he's trying to hide from her.
oh, it's so obvious now. Gellar MUST be a creation of Travis' mind, because if he's not, then why Dexter can't meet with him earlier than the season finale?
I didn't get time to comment much on "Nebraska", but after that amazing scene with Brian Dexter with the pitchfork, I think it strongly supports that Gellar is a hullucination, and that poor Travis has severe schizophrenia! I was thinking at some point his body will be recovered...and my guess is that his former student who played his "sacrificial lamb' is the killer...and so she knows he can't be the Doomsday Killer, but to say so would incriminate herself...I still don't feel good about Deb and the fact that she took that house. I didn't really believe the former owners committed a murder/suicide and/or that there wasn't something more than cheating involved. So now I wonder if it relates to this OD prostitute....and oh, and Maria can be killed at any time, I wouldn't mind.I think Angel's instincts with Louis Green are spot on. There is something not right there...It does seem like Deb might find out about Dexter by the end of the season, especially if her psycologist changes her scope...These last 3 episodes have been really good! I am constantly worried about Deb and Dexter!I just wanted to add that I think Thomas Matthews might be involved with what ever is going on with LaGuerta...I don't remember the episode, but it was a flash back to Deb's birthday and Matthews came over and was fighting with Harry. Harry seemed to imply he was upset with bureaucracy, as somehow how they weren't going to prosecute some horrible criminal and so the guy would walk. Deb might be SO good of a detective that they have to take her out, make it so she can never be a police officer of any sort ever again, because there are shady things going on. Corrupt government official (which then remind me Miguel Prado and the name Miguel does remind me of the name Gellar)
Definitely picking up and getting better. Still not convinced Gellar isn't a ghost, but why would Travis lock himself up? He had no way of knowing Dexter would be coming. I don't know! I want answers!
I have such mixed feelings about this season, usually the non Dexter stuff intrigues me but I am so over stupid Quinn being an asshole and Angel being a douche to the cute intern guy.
Now the LaGuerta stuff I was only paying half attention to but I think she covered up the death because Chief Matthews was the one with the prostitute when she died? At least that what I assumed.
I guess my Gellar is dead theory has to be wrong now.....but still has anyone actually seen him? I am not letting go off it completely until someone sees him in the flesh!
I don't know if you have ever seen "A Beautiful Mind" or the film adaptation of Stephen King's "Secret Window", but in both causes the hallucinations of schizophrenia are so bad that the characters end up doing the most horrible things to themselves and in Mort Rainy's (Secret Window) case, other people...
- I know it has been a long time coming and it makes perfect sense from a character standpoint but I don't like this rift between Deb and Dex. It's going to make digesting the truth a whole lot harder for Deb. - Quinn needs to get his crap together or get killed. - Masuka's assistant should just go away. - I still hate LaGuerta but at least she's doing something interesting now. - Dexter isn't killing enough people this season. - I like the idea of Dexter keeping that bloody bible around. - Five bucks says that LaGuerta is covering up for Captain Matthews.
I am not saying he can't be real, but I think things are still too convieniant. Everything is filmed in such a way that No one has inacted with him other than travis and no one besides his other former student and lover have come forward to say that they have seen or been in contact with him.
Travis being hit on the head with a shovel is classic "black out" sanario of Schizophrenia...There is no noise from where Travis looks, Dexter doesn't see him go from the church, and Dexter makes a point to say that he thinks Gellar saw him, and not the other way around...
If that's the case, the show had better revisit some of these at the end of the season. I'd like to see where Travis knocks himself unconscious with a shovel. :)
See now I am back on board with the theory, I think it has to be right though in a way it's a bit annoying because I thought that from like episode 2 and if its the big twist at the end of the season I would almost feel let down and yet they have to be heading that way.
I have to say that the Doomday killers are by far the worst killers on Dexter to date and due to this I found really found this episode quite boring. It is painfully obvious that Gellar is in Travis made and found large parts of this episode redundant.
The writer were a subtle as a truck with LaGuerta cover for whoever who was with the call girl when she died, considering that LaGuerta blackmail Matthews about him using call girl at start of this season. The one bit I did like was Debra question her relationship with Dexter or maybe find out.I really hope the writers don't just let it amount to nothing.....I feel it one few thing that could save this season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It wasn't blown away by this episode but it is still Dexter.
