  1. Tom Hiddleston. >.>

Although I'd go with Michael Sheen, too.

  2. I suppose I'm alone in thinking 'Please God NO!'

  3. Benedict Cumberbatch already said he doesn't want to play Doctor ever. Honestly, I'm not really liking any of the options here, but I'd sure love Michael Fassbender to play Master if they go that way.

  4. I' for David Tennant or James McAvoy. Also I think Ruppert Grint would be a great Doctor.

  5. I loved David Tennant as the Doctor, but I'd love Simon Pegg or Michael Sheen, too. Tom Hiddleston would work too.
I still don't want this to happen though.

  6. Tennant, Pegg or Sheen would be great Doctors, but I would love to see McAvoy take on the roll. However, why not try Matt Smith, if he's still up for being the Doctor in a few years? I dont want one of the Doctor's generations being burned up for just one movie. Hopefully the movie could be a prequel to a series.

  7. David Tennant! He's my favorite doctor;)

  8. Cumberbatch would make a terrible Doctor in my opinion, who ever plays him has to be far more physical rather than reserved.  Sherlock suits him perfectly though.

Pegg has also said that he wouldn't want the role on twitter the other day, shouting and making a noise that it should be Matt Smith 9_9

I don't fancy any of the other actors there if I'm honest.  In my dreams it is either Hugh Laurie, or since it won't be for a few years yet, Rupert Grint :)

  9. I get the feeling it will be a reboot, as in they will start again at the beginning with the First Doctor.  We know for sure that it will have nothing to do with the TV show, so Smith is out of the running  which is a good thing imo.  When he leaves the TV series he needs to find something other than his old character being written and directed by a completely different team :(

  10. haha, I've been saying Grint for a couple of years now, I think he needs to grow a lil more as an actor before taking the lead in a film, but as we have a few years before this is due to hit production then it could work imo :)

  11. I think it would be a very bad move to cast a previous Doctor from the TV which will have nothing to do with this film.  The only Doc I think that could work would be McGann, but even he wouldn't be ideal as so many consider him as canon in the show now.

Tennant would be a very bad move in particular as most fans of the genre dislike him so much for how his Doc was written, and he completely bombed state side when he left the show.  It would have to be an actor who is held in high regard on both sides of the Atlantic imo.

  12. I love Matt Smith as the Doctor, David Tennant is my second favourite.

  13. You are absolutely not alone.

Doctor Who is a 50 year single canon. It doesn't need a "film adaptation", and as a fan of the series, I have no interest in seeing a film adaptation.

Do something original for a change, Yates.

  14. Tell me about it.  To me the whole thing just smells of lets grab the money.  Which means unfortunately it probably will be made with a huge budget and little real care.

A complete reboot or a prequel starting from the beginning would spoil the Doctor's mystery because really are they going to give him a name?

And if you are going for the Time War then you need McGann or Eccleston for that to work and really can't see a film adaptation of that working in the terms of blockbuster and keeping it as Dr Who.  For crying out loud RTD inventing Captain Jack for running around with the gun shooting lots of people.

  15. I'm with everyone else here, I'd vote for Charlie Sheen too...

There were already 3 Doctor Who movies made, none of which were great.  The first Doctor Who reboot was a bad idea, another one does not excite me.

  16. Actually, despite the fact that I prefer the Eleventh Doctor, David Tennant seems like the best choice to me.

  17. James McAvoy! I think he'd do really well :) but I suppose it depends on when the movie's set and what its really about...

  18. Not sure I am on board for a Doctor Who movie as described by Yates, but would love to see Hugh Laurie as the Doctor.

  19. You're not alone. I think it would be a big mistake to make a "film adaptation". Don't you dare, Yates!!!
