Emmy and Academy Award nominee Janet McTeer has been cast in a regular role as a foil for Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) on the fifth and final season of Damages. (She got an Emmy nod for an HBO mini Into the Storm and an Oscar nomination for actress in a leading role for Tumbleweeds in 2000.) McTeer will play Kate Franklin (nice American name), a former colleague of Hewes who joins Ellen Parsons who may or may not be involved in the big Patty-Ellen blowout. She looks like she could land a solid jab.
