Bones - Guest Actors sign on for Season 8 with pay increase

Nov 18, 2011

The supporting stars of Bones are getting a raise.

Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, John Francis Daley and T.J. Thyne, who earn approximately $30,000 to $40,000 per episode, will now make a mid-five-figures per episode salary, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The raises will be retroactive and include the current seventh season.

Ratings: Bones has highest season premiere in three years

In exchange for the pay bumps, the four actors have signed on for an additional season, should the Fox series be renewed.

  1. Good for them! I hope it gets renewed. Seems like a no-brainer, especially if "House" isn't planned to go beyond this season.

  2. You cannot call them guest actors, like your headline suggests. They are supporting actors and are there all of the time in every single show. Guest actors come on for one show.

  9. Have to agree. They are all in the main credits and in every single episode (or nearly every episode). While they may not be the lead actors or actresses they are also stars of the show.

  10. This show is stale and resorted to pandering to their fans instead of making interesting story lines. When Bones announced she was pregnant  at the end of last season, I rolled my eyes and promptly took it off my dvr's programming list. Haven't seen a single show this season and probably won't. But cheers to all the loyal fans, hope it doesn't disappoint you.

  11. Uh, wow. It's actually re-invigorated the show and it is interesting, especially now that Booth and Brennan are together! It's not stale at all.

And the only reason Brennan is pregnant is because Emily was. If she hadn't been pregnant, Booth/Brennan still would have gotten together, but in a worse way, according to Hart.

This is a good decision the show made. You should give this season a chance instead of judging it.

  12. Cart before the horse.  FOX television and 20th Century FOX are going to have to fight over Bones' license fee AGAIN before they can renew the show.

  13. good news, hope it gets season 8

  14. Easier said than done.  Another season means another raise for the leads, more expensive production, a traditionally higher license fee, and smaller profit margin.  Plus, the main characters getting together takes away an incentive to continue the series.  If FOX has a decent pilot season, it will be a tough battle to get Bones renewed.

  15. The supporting cast is really part of the success. I love Dr. Seroyan's sense of humor, Sweets' awkardness, Angela's spontaneity and Hodgins' good heart that he tries to hide always competing for 'king of the lab'.
