Arrested Development - Netflix Exclusively Lands New Episodes

Nov 19, 2011

The return of Arrested Development is now a done deal. Netflix announced today that it has picked up exclusive rights to brand-new episodes of the classic cult comedy, and they'll be available on instant watch sometime in the first half of 2013. Series creator Mitch Hurwitz teased his plan to bring back the Bluths last month, and though Hulu and Showtime both made a play for the new mini-season, Netflix came out ahead and will add Arrested to a new slate of original programming that includes the Kevin Spacey drama House of Cards. Hurwitz has claimed that these new episodes will run in the lead-up to a feature film, and though there's no more word on the movie just yet, it looks like this long-awaited revival is finally a go. Finally, something Reed Hastings won't have to apologize for!

  2. Well I was losing some Netflix respect recently, but all is forgiven (for now)!

Awesome news that the new season is a go and saying no word on how many episodes makes me hope for MORE not less episodes than the discussed 8 to 10.

I hope thee are no other issues to hold back production now....

I guess if they need money there's always money in the banana stand *wink*......

  6. I guess it's a good thing that Netflix made a boneheaded mistake, royally pissed off its customers, and seriously needed to repair its image.  Nothing could repair an image faster than playing the hero like this.
